TOURS OF GRACIE MANSION townre.nyc/gracie17 Tuesdays, 10:00am, 11:00am, 2:00pm, 3:00pm Gracie Mansion in Carl Schurz Park Since 1799, Gracie Mansion has served as the home of 10 mayors, beginning first with Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia in 1942. And now, in celebration of its 75th Anniversary being a mayoral residence, Mayor de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray have introduced a new art installation envisioning New York through the framework of Gracie Mansion as it has been inhabited over time.

IT’S HAPPENING! CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF PUBLIC ART IN NYC PARKS townre.nyc/happening17 October 21st, 11:00am - 3:00pm East Pinetum, Central Park To mark 50 years of public art in NYC parks, on Saturday, October 21st, NYC Parks is transforming Central Park into a stage, museum and art studio for a complimentary day of public art to celebrate this milestone. All will be delighted by art exhibits, performances and hands-on art workshops in Central Park’s beautiful East Pinetum field.

COMMUNITY ROWING AT PIER 40 townre.nyc/rowing17 Through November 12th, Sundays: 12:00pm, Tuesdays: 5:30pm Pier 40, Houston Street and the Hudson River Greenway Join the Village Community Boathouse for Community Rowing in traditional Whitehall gigs, captained by experienced New York Harbor coxswains. The Community Rows are offered at no cost and include a basic introduction to rowing for first timers and of course, plenty of actual rowing on the Hudson River. The rows take place in five-person wooden rowboats that Village Community Boathouse builds on-site.

THE ANNUAL TOMPKINS SQUARE HALLOWEEN DOG PARADE townre.nyc/dogparade17 October 21st, 12:00pm - 3:00pm Tompkins Square Park Dogs and puppies alike let their alter-egos shine, flaunting some of the cutest costumes you’ll ever see at the annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade. Critics call it “the largest dog costume parade in the world” and “barkin’ mad.” This year’s contestants will compete for thousands of dollars in prizes!
