Town of Sussex Ball Hockey This program is competitive at all levels however beginners are welcome to join. Community Services—432-4573 Ages: 4 -13 (14 in Middle School) When: April-May Where: Sports Centre Cost: $60-$90 (depending on age) + $25 jersey deposit. $60 - for 5 and Under (2015-2016) $70 - 7 and Under (2013-2014) $80 - 10 and Under (2010-2012) $90 - 13 and Under (2007-2009) Register at: www.sussexatplay.ca Goalies register at 50% discount. Goalies can not register online. No registrations will be accepted after April 1st Cheerleading Learn basic Cheerleading skills which will include some dance and gymnastics. Participants will learn a routine which they will perform the last night for parents. Due to time restriction parents are asked to drop off kids for each class. Read & Play This program is in partnership with the Sussex Regional Library to encourage reading and physical literacy and include old fashion playground games such as tag, red rover and more. Junior Gardener Learn how to start seed and grow some wonderful garden delights. This program is very basic however the goal is to have kids bring their learnings home and start seeds and possibly their own gardens. Sewing Workshop/Quilting Learn to sew an easy baby or lap quilt top. This quilt top is made with an interesting sewing technique using twelve different coordinating fabric prints. Finished size will be 36” x 48”. Some sewing machines will be available for your use or you may bring your own. Bring rotary cutter, cutting mat and ruler, if you have them. Some sewing experience is required for this course. Ages: 14 + with sewing experience When: Tuesday March 31 - April 21, 6:00-8:30 pm Where: SRHS Cost: $100 Books & Cooks This Program is in partnership with the Sussex Regional Library and encourages reading and teaching basic and fun cooking techniques. This is a very basic class and open to all level of cooking skills. This includes assets, banking, budgeting, consumerism and credit. One of the key tools in our program is the Black Book ©. It is used to track your income and expenses for a month so you know what you are spending and can create a realistic budget based on your personal goals. Explore Spring Bus Tour This tour will head to Saint John and take in some of the cities history by visiting some of the City’s finest landmarks such as Fort Howe, Rockwood Park, Martello Tower and the Reversing Falls. Then we will head to the 14 1/2 Cafe for a Fish and Chip lunch. The 8th Hussars Museum

Located in downtown Sussex in the Historic Train Station, the 8th Hussars Museum is dedicated to presenting the more than 200 years of military history of Sussex and surrounding area. The museum highlights the 170-year history of the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s) regiment, the New Brunswick Rangers and that of Camp Sussex, one of Canada’s first permanent military training centres. Other displays tell the story of local soldiers and their experiences during peace and war, both tragic and inspiring. Visit the 8th Hussars Museum in the historic Sussex train station. See the military history of Sussex and surrounding area. Open 7 days a week, May until Sept.

Sussex Flea Market ~ August 14th, 15th & 16th, 2020 The NBAAC Sussex Flea Market is held annually, for three days, starting on the third Friday of August, in Princess Louise Park, Sussex, New Brunswick. Originally organized by the club as an antique automotive flea Market and car corral, The “Sussex Flea Market” has since become a 3-day provincial extravaganza with a broad range of items for sale. The Flea Market Hours are: Friday: 8am to 8pm • Saturday: 8am to 8pm • Sunday: 8am to 3pm Admission is $5 per adult. Children 12 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Whether you’re searching for rare collectables, jewelry, handicrafts, household items, or just looking to spend a fun afternoon browsing through acres of bargains, you’ll find it all at the Sussex Flea Market! You’ll even find your choice of kitchen sinks! There is also an annual Show & Shine held on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. One entrance pass per car with a minimum donation of $5; dash plaques available. Bring your sunscreen, a good hat, and comfortable walking shoes, because you won’t want to miss a thing. Don’t forget to bring along some tote bags to carry your new purchases. If you’re bringing others along, make arrangements to meet up at the main building, just across from the food vendors, if you should happen to get separated.

If you will be arriving on Wednesday, please plan ahead so that you arrive in Sussex between 5 and 8 pm. Thursday is Vendor Set Up day and you will have the whole day to set up your lot. The gates do not open to the public until Friday, so take advantage of a leisurely set-up day. The registration gate will open at 8am for vendors who will be arriving on Thursday.

Family Support Coordinator for the Sussex area This position is through the Sussex and Area Wellness Network and funded by The United Way, Saint John, Kings and Charlotte. The role of the Family Support Coordinator is to help families become informed of existing programs and services that are available in the Sussex community.
