3A. The climate is ideal for growing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and with so much produce it’s no wonder Keremeos is known as "The Fruit Stand Capital of Canada". Due to the areas mild winters, dry climate and the scenic and peaceful countryside, Keremeos is fast becoming a popular retirement community. For some adventure explore the mountain wilderness, raft down the Similkameen River, take in a rodeo or check out the Keremeos Columns Provincial Park located just north of Keremeos on Liddicote Road. The columns themselves are on private property so permission must be obtained from the owner to venture to the columns.

On Highway 3A just North of Keremeos is Olalla, named after the Salish word for saskatoon berry "olallie", which grows in abundance in the area. The population of Olalla is approximately 400 with the majority being retired, due in part to the mild winter and dry summer climate. Fruit growing, cattle ranching and hay farming are the areas main industries. Come and enjoy some of the most picturesque and peaceful countryside imaginable.

The Town of Princeton is beautifully nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, in the heart of the Similkameen Valley and at the junction of the Tulameen and Similkameen Rivers. The mountains, valleys and hundreds of miles of back country roads make it a natural setting for outdoor activities including snowmobiling, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, wildlife photography, rock hounding and crosscountry skiing. Either of the two rivers is a natural choice for tubing, canoeing, kayaking, or gold panning. The 49 lakes in the area make Princeton a prime fishing destination in all four seasons.
