The magic of the Christmas season comes alive in the streets of Summerland during the fabulous Festival of Lights the last weekend in November. Bring your family and friends to experience the spirit of festival fun. The kids can visit Santa, ride a pony or the ATV train before the fireworks display lights up the sky.
Golfing With one of the longest playing seasons in Canada, Summerland offers 18 holes of magnificent Championship golf at the Summerland Golf & Country Club and a nine-hole, par 28 course at Sumac Ridge Golf & Country Club. Enjoy the views and amenities that the Summerland golf courses provide, even if you don’t golf!

Summerland was one of the first communities in the Okanagan Valley to embrace the development of the commercial fruit industry in the late 1800’s. Over 100 years later it continues to thrive with the development of the Agri-Tourism industry. Orchard Tours are offered at Dickinson Family Farm, showcasing the world’s tallest orchard ladder. Summerland Sweets factory offers beautiful jams, jellies, syrups and sweets all made locally. There are over 20 wineries in the Summerland area. Winery Tours and tastings are offered at most wineries including: 8th Generation Vineyard, Back Door Winery, Dirty Laundry Vineyard, Evolve Winery, Sage Hills Vineyard, Saxon Winery, Silkscarf Winery, Sonoran Estate Winery, Sumac Ridge Estate Winery, Thornhaven Estate Winery and TH Wines. Quality fresh picked fruit and vegetables can be found at one of our local Fruit Stands or at our Farmer's Markets held May to October every Tuesday in Memorial Park or Sunday on Main St.

Summerland is the perfect setting for a truly relaxing vacation or visit. An integral part of the Okanagan experience, Summerland’s natural beauty and small town warmth are a haven for the visitor who craves outdoor recreation, agri-tourism opportunities and rich cultural activities. Summerland’s charming downtown is filled with unique shops, cafés and bistros. Rural lifestyle with urban amenities. Heritage attractions include the historic Kettle Valley Steam Railway, which operates May through October and provides musical entertainment, special coach bookings and theme trains like the Great Train Robbery during summer months or the Christmas train in December; or you can tour the exquisite Ornamental Gardens, planted over 100 years ago, and the Agriculture Museum, which are both located at the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre. Another “must see” historic feature in Summerland is the re-decked Trout Creek Canyon Bridge. Experience more panoramic views from Giants Head Mountain Park or wind your way above Prairie Valley along the Trans-Canada Trail.

Panoramas at Giant's Head Mountain Park The 360 degree view is spectacular from Giants Head Mountain Park – so named because the south face of the mountain resembles a man’s profile. There is a parking lot near the summit where you can take two hiking trails – one winding – one challenging – to the peak.
