LEADERS IN PLAY Age: 14 to 17 years Location: AFLC This two-day leadership course combines the fundamentals of physical literacy with basic leadership skills. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary in order to volunteer in our seasonal recreation programs for the Winter session. Our engaging and experienced instructor will walk participants through coaching basics, exciting leadership exercises and provide an introduction to physical literacy. This stimulating new leadership program will provide teens with an opportunity to stock their ever-growing toolkit. Successful completion of this two-day course will result in placement as a volunteer in a Winter 2020 recreation program. Note: Placements must occur in the seasonal programs that take place directly after the training course. The Loft, Aurora’s Youth Lounge at the AFLC, is looking for volunteers! Do you like hanging out at The Loft? Do you want to earn community service hours and gain leadership experience?

LOFT AMBASSADOR ! PROGRAM

New

Age: 12 to 17 years Location: AFLC

Sign-up to become a Loft Ambassador and help us make sure the lounge is a fun place for teens to hang out. Loft Ambassadors will attend a 2-hour training session and volunteer once a week to support staff and participants. Training will take place once a month on Thursday nights from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This program is open to teens aged 12 to 17 years.
