High Tech Meets Heritage Internationally acclaimed for superb service and accommodation, Victoria has all the amenities of a big city accompanied by the renowned warmth of island hospitality. The Victoria Conference Centre is the city’s largest conference facility and boasts 73,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Additionally, many of the hotels in Victoria and on Vancouver Island have meeting and conference space. Depending on the number of delegates you need to accommodate and the setting you want for your program, you may choose to host your event at one Aboriginal Mask

of the region’s conference hotels. No matter where you choose to stay, the Victoria Conference Centre is always close by. The following pages list hotels that have a minimum of 1,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. • The Crystal Garden provides an additional 25,000 sq. ft. of meeting space to the Victoria Conference Centre for a total of 73,000 sq. ft. of modern meeting space. • The Crystal Garden is a historic landmark originally designed by Francis Rattenbury, a B.C. architect responsible for many of the province’s most famous landmarks including the B.C. Parliament Buildings and The Fairmont Empress Hotel. •T  he Crystal Garden opened in 1925 as the largest saltwater swimming pool in the Commonwealth. It also housed two leafy tea gardens and dance floors. It was a popular social centre for the city for decades and a haunt for many celebrities in its day. In later years, the building was home to exotic animals and tropical gardens. •T  he Crystal Garden is now a signature banquet and exhibit space and one-ofa-kind venue that pays homage to its unique past.
