Cycle the Gulfshore Parkway in Prince Edward Island National Park There is no better way to explore the stunning landscape of PEI’s north shore than by cycling the Gulfshore Way. This seaside route is recent upgrade to PEI National Park that offers a paved, two-way trail that twins the Gulfshore Parkway, providing cyclist with a smooth surface and a mix of flat stretches and gentle rolling slopes.

Gulfshore Way West stretches from Oceanview Look-off in Cavendish to North Rustico Beach providing unmatched views of the Island’s striking red sandstone cliffs. Along the way you’ll enjoy an extended smooth stretch through rolling dunes and salt marshes before crossing the bridge at Covehead Harbour, passing the famous Stanhope Lighthouse and the Historic Dalvay-by-the-Sea Hotel. Prince Edward Island National Park features over 50km of paved and mixed surface trails that appeal to cyclists of all levels and interests. Geocaching is like a modern day game of hide and seek. It is best defined as an adventure game for Global Positioning Device users. Caches are set up all over the world, their locations coordinates are posted on the Internet and GPS users get to hunt for the cache. Geocaching originated in Beaver Creek, Oregon in 2000. The Confederation Trail has 1800 geocaches placed along the 400 kilometers of the trail. This is the longest and largest geocache ‘Power Trail’ in the world. There are over 5189 geocaches on P.E.I.

Brookvale Nordic Center is the home to 40 kilometers of single track trail. It is the mountain biking mecca of PEI. Home to the Rigid Riders Mountain Biking Club, it offers a variety of trail difficulty from beginner to expert. As a public mountain biking venue, the trails at Brookvale offer a mix of ‘flowy’ single-track and sweeping double track sections. Whether you are a beginner hoping to explore rich Island forests, or an expert set on pushing your limits as you flow through rusty single track, Brookvale Nordic Center has a Mountain Biking experience for you.
