KATE + TYSON
Kate and Tyson decided that wanted their first looks to be in the private setting of the Como Treasury Hotel. Getting ready in her KWH sequin gown to stand back to back with her husband to be Tyson and then turn to see each other for the first time on their Wedding day is about as romantic as it can get! Captured so beautifully by Shannon from Shannon Stent Images, they then rounded up the Bridal party for a portrait shoot around the city and King's Park to finally arrive at the ceremony location, Lamonts Bishop's House. Everyone had already had such a fun and satisfying day and they were yet to even have the ceremony. As the sun set over the couple's gorgeous garden ceremony, Kate and Tyson became husband and wife, happily signing away on the dotted line. After family photos took place in the lush gardens, it was time to join their friends and family for champagne and canapes followed by a marquee reception under the stars.

Ardeena Bohemian Bliss: Styled Shoot
"We were all so overjoyed with the outcome and I could not have been more grateful to the team!" Emily Ochs Ardeena originates from the word ‘Arden’, Celtic for ‘highlands’ and is also inspired by Shakespeare’s Forest of Arden – a place of magic and beauty – all of which you will discover when you arrive at this spectacular, secluded location. This stunning new Wedding venue offers and exclusive blank canvas Wedding setting just 16kms from the beaches of Coolangatta. Emily Ochs and her amazing team of talented collaborators share an exclusive look into this incredible bohemian styled Wedding inspiration shoot. "The lead up to the shoot was around a month in the making, conversing with the wonderful suppliers involved to bounce ideas around. The boho style to the shoot is very current and modern, also giving a little edge with our leather jackets and biker boots. We wanted to steer clear of the traditional and mainstream themes.
The venue is so open, lush and green it tied in perfectly with the style and with Ardeena being a DIY venue, this gave us all the more room for creativity! We wanted to create something alternative and to really give prospective couples inspiration on how they can use the space. We wanted the shoot to be fun and care free! The love is love theme is a great way to show our support to same sex couples and shows the diversity of the venue. My favourite details from the day was having the opportunity to work with all the incredible vendors involved, its so inspiring to be around such creative talent. Plus the non stop laughing and jokes!! Instagram is a fantastic visual tool when searching for vendors and get an idea of their creative style. I am also very fortunate, from working in the industry, I have gotten to know many vendors personally and know how hard working and dedicated they are to their passions and business. At the end of the shoot, we all enjoyed a glass of prosecco together and indulged in Leanne’s delicious food!!! The dedication and hard work put into the shoot shines through in these photos." High school sweethearts, Natasha & Jacques marry at the beautiful Summergrove Estate offering the perfect venue for this outdoor loving couple. Both falling in love with it's beautiful scenery, these lovebirds marry after 6 years together and a 16 month engagement. Bulb Creative share the images from this stunning Wedding day celebration. "Jacques and I were away on a little holiday in Fitzroy Island. We got up really early one morning and walked up to the mountain summit. As the sun rose, Jacques bent down on one knee and asked me to marry him!" Natasha tells of the proposal. We a love for the outdoors, 4 words describe the inspiration behind their Wedding day theme - Modern – greenery – authentic - romantic. Natasha's favourite detail from the day were the Wedding florals. "I didn’t give our florist much to go off, I just told her I wanted greenery, whites and a range of pink colours. Laura at Lola's Wildflowers said she had so much fun because she got to be creative and WOW we loved the result!"
"Marriage is choosing to be with the same person forever – no matter how annoying/sick/ugly/old they get. It’s waking up next to your best friend, every day, for the rest of your lives. My favourite moment was definitely our ceremony. It was the moment we’ve been waiting for, for what feels like forever. Walking down that aisle was the most special moment of my entire life. The pastor that married us has known us for 5 years and we wrote our own wedding vows so it was a very personal ceremony. I LOVED my dress. It really was my dream dress. I was quite picky and had a very clear picture in my mind of what I wanted. When we were bridal shopping, I was starting to get disappointed because in every store we went there was NOTHING like what I wanted. I was beginning to think it just didn’t exist. White Lily Couture was the 8th store I visited and when I put that dress on I knew it was perfect." Natasha wore the 'Juri' Enzoani. When asked what advice she would offer to other couple's planning their Wedding, Natasha says - "Just remember the most important part of the day is saying I do. The day before the wedding, my husband and I are decided we would let NOTHING upset/stress/annoy us on our perfect day. The day was less than ideal - it rained -
HARD, people were late, I got a giant muddy footprint on my train, the cake wasn’t straight, family drama etc. etc. But do you know what, we did not care, we had a blast and it was the best day of our lives by far!" What Wedding songs did you choose? Aisle – Marry me by Train Recessional – Treasure by Bruno Mars First Dance – I get to love you by Ruelle "Our photographers and videographers really went above and beyond for our day! Bulb Creative and Free Sky were truly amazing. They were so organised, friendly, easy going and made us feel comfortable. They captured our day perfectly." Tash + Jacques

Claire was amazing every step of organising and planning our wedding blooms. She took the time to understand what I liked and in the end I left it to her to make the decisions. "Firstly, I have to say Ness is the most beautiful, kind and lovely human. She is an amazing, gifted and easy-to-work-with florist. I have admired her work for quite a while now through following her on Instagram and knew that the one thing I wanted was to have Ness do my flowers. I had complete faith and trust in her and boy did she deliver!! I was blown away by my bouquet and only saw it for the first time on the morning of my wedding day! But it was absolutely perfect, she incorporated all my favourite flowers and it was a true masterpiece that I would keep forever and ever! I would 100% recommend Nesst. to any bride!!! I cannot fault her work it was absolutely perfect and I feel so blessed to have Ness be apart of my wedding. Thanks so much Ness!" - Sarah Espiritu Nesst specialises in Weddings, engagements, hen’s parties, private events and occasions, corporate events, baby showers, sympathy and workshops on the beautiful Gold Coast. Let's get social
KIMBERLEY + ANTHONY
"Anthony proposed in September 2016, and we had our heart set on a March Wedding so we waited until 2018. The proposal was a total surprise, I had no idea what he had been planning. It was a Friday evening and I had just gotten home from work and Anthony answered the door with a concerned look on his face and told me our dog Ben had seriously messed up the backyard. He then grabbed my hand and led me out to the outdoor deck and I was searching around for damage. I was looking around and when I turned to Anthony, he had a smile on his face and a ring in his hands. It was such a beautiful moment, I actually burst out laughing and then quickly said yes! So I guess his approach was to make me really mad and then really happy, one extreme to the other!" Kimberley tells of the day they decided on forever. "We’ve been together since the start of 2012, so just over 7 wonderful years and we started looking at venues pretty early on so we could secure a warm month. Many places were booked out for Spring and Summer and we chose Encore St Kilda, Melbourne for our Wedding venue." says happy Bride, Kim.
"Anthony’s brother Rocky is a wedding singer, so has been to many Wedding venues all over Melbourne. It was after his recommendation that we decided to take a look at Encore. Encore was the first place we visited, and we fell in love with it. It was just very us, and it had a good vibe. The inspiration behind the look of our Wedding theme was clean, chic and romantic. We worked closely with all our vendors to bring our vision to life. The colour scheme was white and green with touches of gold incorporated into just about everything from our guests place cards right to the sugar
flowers on our Wedding cake. My Wedding dress was the first one I saw and went to try on. It was love! I went to Bluebell Bridal in the Melbourne CBD. There were so many amazing dresses, but I gravitated to the ‘Stevie’ dress made by Made with Love Bridal. Stevie is made of Ivory French Lace with an embroided floral pattern with a slightly sheer upper bodice with a deep V neckline. I also had a matching Karen Willis Holmes cathedral veil, which my lovely bridesmaids gifted me."
When we asked Kimberley what her favourite detail was about her Wedding day and which resources helped her to plan their Wedding, she said "I absolutely loved my bridal crown, it made me feel like a Queen. After reading To the Aisle's interview article with Stephanie Browne Australia, my choice was made from there. Hands down my girlfriends were my main source of information. They had gone through the whole process of researching and booking, so I ended up using many of the same suppliers. Researching is not my strongest forte, it can be so overwhelming with how many different parts there are to book. So other couples spreadsheets and vendor lists came in very handy!" "Marriage for me, is committing to my husband that I’ll forever be his little weirdo. Yep, FOREVER. And by him saying ‘I do’ he accepts me as I am. Anthony and I are pretty much laughing all the time, as you can be seen in many of our wedding pictures and our wedding highlight video. I guess marriage for us means balance, he is the Ying to my Yang." Kiimberley tells.
ON THE DAY: "I’ll be honest, the day was a bit of a blur. We had a tight run sheet to ensure everything ran smoothly, so it was all systems go. But one favourite moment that did stand out, was me throwing the bridal bouquet and my maid of honour catching it (knocking a couple of other girls out the way) and then proceeding to do a victory lap around the dance floor. You go girl! Celebrate your victory! When Anthony and I first started dating, he made me a mix CD of his favourite songs. I decided if we made it to the alter that one of those songs would be our first dance, and sure enough ‘Lost without you’ by Robin Thicke was it. There was no other song but that one. If I offered any advice, it would be that if you have your heart set on a particular venue or vendor in mind, book them early! Organisation is the key and with the wedding industry, you can book months, even sometimes years in advance. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Iconic Pictures and Perspectives by MC. They were incredibly easy to work with and the images they captured were just magical." Kimberley + Anthony Loprevite

Love in the Garden Wedding Tablescape Styled Inspiration Shoot
From seeing an inspirational IG post by Judy at Table for Louis to this exquisite display of tablescape inspiration, Bronwyn from Love Notes Australia coordinated this stunning, never before seen Wedding inspiration styled shoot at The Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove. This exclusive look into this incredible styled shoot is to see the very definition of what tablescape means: An artistic arrangement of articles on a table. The design of your Wedding tablescape warmly welcomes your guests to their impressive place at their table, provides them with the information they might need for the evening and is home to whatever theme you choose for your Wedding day. Bronwyn and 10 other amazingly talented Wedding vendors from the Gold Coast are proud to present this styled tablescape inspiration to you and also give you the chance to meet the faces behind the talent as we introduce everyone involved with a special portrait shoot.
"This Styled Shoot was a plan in the works for quite a few months and came together within 2 weeks. It started with an inspirational IG post by Judy at Table for Louis which led me to reach out and connect for an opportunity of working together. I chose the Intercontinental because of its sophisticated country charm that was a perfectly fit for the design brief. From the moment you arrive, you can't help but feel at home with it’s sophisticated country charm. Upon arrival you are greeted by the warm timber and stone features of open fire places with a grand
staircase leading to a large outdoor terrace overlooking the immaculate gardens, water fountains including a secluded lagoon. Seriously, all the feels of Summer in the Hamptons! Another drawcard for this venue was David Carlo the Wedding Planner, he is amazing and also Karin Bradley from Chelsea Flower Co. Karin was the in house florist at Versace for many years and her work is amazing! Working with exclusive brands that are passionate about who they are and what they do is always an honour." Bronwyn tells of the lead up to shoot day.
From award winning makeup artist Lara Quinn to Rhydian Lewis who is an amazing Jazz performer and Nicoletta Sagripanti from Wood & Beau whose designs are seen around the world, seeing the faces behind the brands come together for the first time and mingle in a relaxed setting with champagne in hand. "Most styled shoots consist of long days and many hours of preparation so by the time the day arrives, you are exhausted. This shoot was intentionally designed to be simply stunning with the focus on one main table which showcased the beautiful work of each vendor. Careful consideration was given when selecting which vendors to invite for the shoot. My motto in life is “less is more so I keep the number of invited creatives to no more than 8. Also keeping in mind the level of each vendors experience within the industry to bring a high end yet relaxed style to the shoot.
LOVE IN THE GARDEN | TO THE AISLE AUSTRALIA

"Because this was the first ever photo shoot for the BMC label, I decided to add an embroidered tulle panel with lace on the back saying “beginnings” - Reflecting the beginning journey of a couple in marriage and also to reflect the beginning of BMC." Ben Maudsley The moment Ben's Grandmother showed him how to sew on her Janome sewing machine all those years ago, Ben knew his dream of becoming a Bridal Couturier would one day become a reality. Combining his love for all things Bridal and a desire to enrol in as many courses as he could to refine his skills, we are beyond thrilled to publish his incredible work in Ben Maudsley Couture's launch shoot for you. ➳ How long have you been designing Bridal Couture? I recently started Ben Maudsley Couture 4 months ago, the moment completed my Diploma of Graphic Design. In the years leading up to the launch of BMC, I had studied fashion design full time, moved on to working in the fashion industry while studying at an array of couturier schools. From here I interned at a few couture bridal labels, which helped me immensely get to where I am today. ➳ What are some of the highlights you had during the design process:
The highlight for me is seeing the gowns come to life and evolve to become the end result. Having a vision is one thing, but combining all the factors such as pattern making, construction of the gowns and fittings is something that needs to be perfected to see an initial sketch come to life. With each design for our Brides, I love to add a personal touch to make the gown truly reflect who they are. Because this was the first ever photo shoot for the BMC label, I decided to add an embroidered tulle panel with lace on the back saying “beginnings”, to reflect the beginning journey of a couple in marriage and also to reflect the beginning of BMC.
➳ What was the inspiration behind these two designs? I wanted to design gowns that reflected the very heart and soul of Ben Maudsley Couture. Sentimentality is definitely the driving force with each gown we design, both the Bride and I. And these two gowns being “the beginning” of BMC are no different. I wanted the gowns to be strong yet femininely ethereal with an edge. Traits BMC Brides will always possess. ➳ What led you to decide on this shoot venue? Funnily enough, when I was studying fashion, our runway shows were held at the Bendigo Town Hall. I was brainstorming one day to think of the perfect location for our backdrop for the start of the label and it just came to me. In a way, it’s like a homage to my school days to represent what happened then when I finished studying and what is happening now for the label. The backdrop also reflects how I envision every one of my gowns to be, incredibly detailed and works of art.
âžł What was your favourite detail about the shoot day? Without a doubt, seeing the gowns (and my vision) come to life once the moment our models had the gowns on. Having worked so hard for months before the big day, seeing them at the final stage and being modelled made me realise how proud of myself I am and that dreams can definitely come true if you work hard enough for it. Also a big shout out is definitely needed to be said for my Mother, as she has been an incredible support to me throughout this journey.

Wedding Wellness Where to Start?
Help? If you’re one of the wonderful ladies that feels stuck and overwhelmed with the thought of starting the process of working towards your wedding goals, then I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone. This is the most common scenario I come across and the great news is that it can be the easiest to overcome! Some ladies start by asking for my help in order to see physically changes and
others ask for help to start a journey that has more work/life balance for an improved lifestyle! However, whatever the desired outcome is, the major hurdle and underlying concept is that they need help to take the first step. I feel that in select areas of our lives we can so easily correlate the need for ‘help’ with a sign of weakness. However, I’m going to dismiss this nonsense and remind you that it’s not only absolutely ok to ask for help, but I feel it should be encouraged. It

DENNIS + CARLEE
"Dennis and I have been to together for three and a half years and were engaged for one 1/2 years. It was a Thursday night when Dennis completely took me off guard and proposed. I was anxiously driving home from having x-rays to determine that I had broken my finger. Dennis was expecting me to call him upon my arrival, however, I forgot to do this and proceeded to rush through the front door without an inkling of a warning to him. As I walked up the stairs to the living area I noticed that
some vases were missing from the cabinet – odd, however thought nothing of it. I continued up into the living room and down the hallway. As I stepped into the living room, there, in the middle of a thousand red and white rose petals was Dennis – handsomely dressed in a suit. Behind him were the words – Will you marry me? I was shocked, unbelievably shocked. I literally dropped to the floor. Dennis then had to tell me to walk over to him. He spoke lovely words and then asked for me to be his wife. Of course I said yes!
He then placed the most gorgeous diamond and sapphire ring upon my finger. We then laughed, cried and enjoyed the rest of the night in our first home, drinking champagne and celebrating. The next day we went to the Kangaroo Valley for the weekend. It was the most perfect end to a wonderful surprise. So as I mentioned above, I had broken my finger the night before the proposal at a game of Oz tag. Dennis at the time was extremely concerned at which particular finger I had managed to injure - my middle finger on the right. Lucky for him! In choosing our Wedding venue, we were after an industrial vibe, with a garden to have the ceremony in. We wished to not have to travel too far as we have family and friends in Sydney, Hunter and on the Central Coast. The moment I stepped into The Springs I pictured marring Dennis. It was the perfect location. A little different to other wedding venues that I had seen before and perfectly located in the centre from Sydney to the Hunter.
The Wedding theme was industrial with copper accents. I wanted to create a Wedding that wasn’t anything that I had been to before. The location fit the brief perfectly. We are minimalistic people and the reception was already how I pictured it to be without needed to bring in decorations. I love copper. So we added little copper details to the candles, the flowers and the cake. In keeping with the industrial theme, I asked my step dad to make the circular arch for the ceremony. We wanted something circular and that was large enough to be able to fit into
all photos. He was a superstar and created the arch out of an old trampoline frame – if you can believe it! My favourite details: I loved the flowers! Again was wanting to incorporate copper into the flowers to tie the theme together. Lauren from Octopus’ Garden did a wonderful job of this! Got my vibe straight away and only after one quick coffee meeting 3 weeks out from the Wedding. I loved my dress! It was divine. Wanted to be a little dramatic. And my shoes! Valentino – the only designer thing I own.
Shopping for my dress was one of the best days of my life. It was 9 months before the wedding and took just one day. It was a day with my 3 bridesmaids, my maid of honour and my Mum. We started at Double Bay visited a small boutique and fell in love with a dress that I would never of thought that I would wear. We were shocked. Was this it? We left and then headed to our booking at David Jones in the City. The boutique was stunning! Overlooked Hyde Park, carpeted and fragranced with perfume. It was the ultimate experience. We were greeted by our sales girl and then whisked away into a suite with curtains and a platform. After trying on about 4 dresses, I then stood into the one. A strapless mermaid gown, with a tulle and lace fishtail that came out from the knee. It had a long train that was layers upon layers of the most delicate lace and tulle I have ever seen. I stood on the platform then was revealed to my bridal entourage. Many tears were shed and I thought that this is it. This was the one. We cried and laughed and then left smiling and headed to celebrate with champagne as I made the decision. Pronovias was the winner, I said Yes to the Dress!" Carlee tells.
What does marriage mean to you? ➳ Marriage, to me, means laughter. Laughing with each other and at each other. Its about being able to be you – all the ugly and true bits. To be honest and to be open. Its about growing old with someone, to love them for their flaws and to support them in all lives ups and downs. ➳ Marriage is a journey, a new page in the next adventure. "My advice for other couples is to enjoy the time! It goes so fast and once its gone, you can’t get it back. Take a moment on the night for just you and your partner. Sneak off and share an intimate drink and be in the moment together."

I walked down the aisle to Sleeping at Last – Turning Pages. Our recessional song was The Beatles – All you need is love (I have a tattoo of this song on my foot). Both of these were sung by my good friend Mel Lewin. Our first dance was to Oasis – Wonderwall. The vendors that really stood out on our day were our photographer and videographer Tim and Ro from Hello Sweetheart - they were the best. They were so friendly and casual and made everyone in the Bridal party feel really comfortable. Dennis and I laughed so much. They nailed the photos and video and everyone still comments on how beautiful the photos are and how lovely they both were on the day. What resources helped you the most during your Wedding planning? I read a lot of blogs and Pinterest. Your favourite moment of the day: Leaving the aisle with my husband’s hand in mine.

I am delighted to be teaming up with To The Aisle Australia to help provide inspiration and ideas for those first precious days or weeks you will spend together as a married couple. Will you jet across the world or enjoy the wonders of your own backyard? Do you dream of lying on white sands next to aquamarine waters with absolutely nothing on your to do list? Or perhaps an active adventure calls out to you? A safari through the Serengeti? Using a kayak to explore places that can’t be found on foot? Or is it something else entirely?
I have been excited about seeing new places for as a long as I can remember, and have been lucky enough to visit five of the seven continents more than once. I travelled across the world for six months when I was 18, lived in four different cities, and have now moved to Queensland from my native England. Like To The Aisle, I prefer to support independent businesses rather than big chains, and am always seeking out unusual and bespoke experiences. I blame my parents for infecting me with the travel bug which has used up the majority of my adult income, but I can’t complain too much. After all, life’s too short not to have adventures."
