LAVENDER AND LILAC "Someone’s wedding day is such a momentous and memorable event and I really wanted to create a product that was deserving of something so special" Sydney based designer - Dawn Perez

➳ Lavender & Lilac offers an intimate and personalised experience when choosing a headpiece for a bride or groom’s wedding day. We offer not only intricately handmade pieces, but also the option of customising our existing pieces, or creating something new entirely. Since I was a little girl, I had always loved designing and creating, from taking a simple idea and using my hands to bring that idea to life and make something beautiful out of it. As I planned for my own wedding in 2015, I was inspired to create my

After my wedding day had passed, I realised how much joy the creative process brought me and was so excited when friends and family would ask me to make headpieces

for their weddings and special occasions. It evolved from something I merely enjoyed doing, to something I was truly passionate about, and this was how Lavender & Lilac was born.

I then got to work on developing and designing both the collection and the brand as a whole, in the hopes of creating something cohesive and representative of my aesthetic. Lavender & Lilac has been in the making for almost two years now. We are still a young business, excited for what the future may bring. Our Instagram page was launched just over a year ago and our online store was launched in May 2017. The brand was inspired by my love for all things floral. I designed each of the pieces to hold a dainty and delicate feel, while always keeping a floral theme in mind. The concept of the Keepsake Flower Crown became the centrepiece of the brand.

'Getting married in a yurt is all about bringing the landscape in.' MONTVILLE YURTS

Recently announcing their EcoBiz Star partnership, Montville Yurts are lovers & supporters of offering their couples eco-friendly options when planning their outdoor Wedding day. ➳ We founded Montville Yurts back in 2015 after discovering an Australian bamboo yurt builder and falling in love with his unique, hand made structures. Jamie and I (Naomi) had been living in Montville for some time - a region well known as a wedding destination with its beautiful mountain landscapes and big coastal views. It was really just about bringing the two elements together. Since then we have been busy creating great spaces in and around the Sunshine Coast’s beautiful outdoors.

Real Wedding

Date: 23-11-17 Venue: North Stradbroke Island Photographer: Amie Victoria Photography

" We knew that Straddie was the place for us. It was the perfect compromise between an overseas destination wedding or a local event. I fell in love with our property the moment I saw it. That huge garden with it's own private beach‌ what more could you want? We had actually booked our venue about 8 months before I got my proposal. Waiting on my ring from Windfall Jewellery took a while so Heath officially proposed on the 15 March 2017 and we were married 11 November 2017. We met at the end of 2014 and I'm unsure of when it really became official. We just started hanging out, fell in love and being together just seemed so natural. Three years later here we are, enjoying life as newlyweds with our two boys. I did most of the wedding stuff myself. From the stationery to the furniture. AMIE VICTORIA PHOTOGRAPHY | SUNSHINE COAST

I also used local Sunshine Coast vendors as I believe in sticking with who you know and supporting local. They were all happy to make the trip to Straddie. My proposal happened on our date night and we had our 7 month old baby with us. We live by the ocean and he suggested we go for a walk on the beach which I thought was peculiar as it was raining! It was really sweet, he got down on one knee in front of Mudjimba Island, holding our son and pulled the ring out with his other hand. I'll never forget how nervous he was even though we'd started planning the wedding. Nonetheless it was perfect and a beautiful memory. When you find someone you love and work well with, then the compromising is easy.

I wore the Paloma by GLL and it was my dream dress. The perfect balance of boho and romance with a touch of sexy.It was my third purchased gown and I had already bought my gown before the Elixir collection was released. I saw Paloma on Instagram and knew I had to have it. I wore it for my ceremony and then slipped into Made with Love's Anastasia gown for my reception. I'd had it altered so it was the perfect dancing dress. The best moment for me was when my dad saw me for the first time. He looked so happy and just wouldn't stop staring at me and saying how beautiful I was and how proud he was. He made jokes whilst walking down the aisle and it stopped me from crying‌ which was awesome. Being pelted with rose petals after being pronounced husband and wife was pretty awesome too! We also had dolphins visit us during our ceremony‌ how perfect.

We can laugh about it now, but our groomsman Dave passed out and fell from the deck (it was only a step high!) when we were all walking back down the aisle. Everybody said the food was incredible and we are so happy that we kept our Wedding day simple and intimate - we wouldn't change a thing!

When Melbourne Event planner, Megan Ftouni, approached Little Ginger Co about a styled warehouse Wedding shoot opportunity, it was all hands on donuts (deck!) One of four shoot sets on the day included this Rustic Gold setting. Fiona wanted to showcase a very versatile and cost effective set up at this warehouse venue in Williamstown still featuring "on trend" pieces that wouldn't break the bank. The results are stunning simplicity of ivory and fresh greenery with accents of gold. TO THE AISLE AUSTRALIA | MELBOURNE

WHERE LEATHER MEETS ART ➳ Hide and Rose began after one sentimental Bride’s hunt for an unconventional wedding dress cover-up. I was getting married in May this year (2017) and I wanted to wear something to my wedding that would be warm and reflect my own sense of style – something classic yet edgy, something elegant yet bold. I loved the idea of leather on lace. I searched my wardrobe for something I could repurpose and found my leather jackets.

From then on, I had my heart set on leather but I wanted something feminine and sentimental as well. I wanted to personalise my jacket with roses (Rose being my middle name) and some meaningful words. I wanted to remember that feeling of my wedding day, every time I put on my leather jacket in the future. I worked with an Artist, Ella, to create my wedding jacket. Once my bridesmaids heard, they wanted a personalised and hand-painted jacket too! And so the business adventure began!

Whether it’s the final detail of a Bride’s Wedding outfit, a layering piece to get from the wedding to the reception or a personalised photo prop, a Hide and Rose jacket is a hand-painted wearable piece of artwork that will be forever enjoyed!

Hide and Rose officially launched in August 2017 (3 months after my wedding and 6 months after I started to do the planning for the business). The highlight so far has definitely been working with the Artists. I just love who they are, what they are about and their creative talent. The H+R Artists are the essence of Hide and Rose. It has also been kind of cool to have had Hide and Rose painted leather jackets feature in OK Magazine, the Daily Mail and in a styled shoot published by White Magazine.

That long-standing tradition of mothers handing down their wedding dresses to their daughters doesn’t happen as much these days, but how beautiful to have a personalised leather wedding jacket, a wearable piece of art, to hand down to your children. I just loved the idea that much I started a business about it! TO THE AISLE AUSTRALIA SEE FULL INTERVIEW

'We are just a passionate, creative & experienced group of people who love making Brides happy' Coral Johnston - Corston Couture

âžł HOW WAS CORSTON COUTURE BORN? Corston Couture just evolved, much like how many businesses do I suppose. I had been doing a Science degree at University (majoring in Psychology), and realised that I was never going to be happy using the degree. While I had been studying I had been making the odd bit and piece for a variety of clients and myself, so decided to just launch a collection, and see what happened. That was September 1989! I launched a line of dress clothes (jeans, trousers and shirts) for Sports Men, who were virtually unserviced in Australia at that time. It is a bit of a long story, but the business just evolved toward evening and bridal gowns, and I found most satisfaction making stunning Bridal Gowns... so about 5 years after I started the business, we were doing almost entirely evening and Bridal... about 10 years ago we decided to focus solely on Bridal. âžł TELL US ABOUT WHAT CORSTON OFFERS BRIDES? We are just a passionate creative and experienced group of people who love making brides happy. I, as the head designer, also believe that if you are paying this much money for a dress, the dress needs to be exactly as you want it to be, and the experience has to be the best we can make it be...and we truly do bend over backwards to make our Brides happy.
