ETA EXPERTISE Avvio offers a full service package supporting customers who want to achieve their own ETA. Following a particularly busy booth at Taiwan Fastener Fair, Torque finds out more directly from the Austrian company. VVIO is an Austrian-based technical laboratory that has been in operation for over 20 years. The company specialises in quality insurance for, and European certifications of, wood screws such as wood building screws, chipboard screws, drywall screws or other screws with wood threads for use for timber constructions. AVVIO conducts different kinds of technical tests for its customers regarding specific customer needs. The firm also conducts ITT (Initial Type Testing) based on AVCP Level 4 under the Construction Product Regulation (CPR) EU No. 305/2011. It supports manufacturers or European traders who bring products into the European market under their own name, to set up and conduct an FPC (Factory Production Control) to make sure that they meet all legal and regulatory requirements of the European Union. Among the tests Avvio can offer are geometric measurements, mechanical tests (eg drilling torque or tensile strength) and the determination of corrosion resistance of products (eg by salt spray tests or by measurement of thickness of plating and coating). Therefore we offer an ETA service, where we support customers who want to achieve their own ETA, from the decisioning phase, over the issuance of their own ETA by official EOTA bodies until the usage of the ETA with all regulatory issues that might come up with it. Therefore, we are providing a special full service package. “With our booth in the fair in Kaohsiung – I have to admit – we had unexpected astounding feedback on that service offer from the Asian manufacturers.
