2013 TORCH Advertising and Sponsorship Opportunities The Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals thanks you for your interest in marketing your company or organization and for utilizing our resources to reach out to our many rural and community hospital members. There are numerous advertising and sponsorship opportunities available throughout the year. Several of our publications are being upgraded to allow us to highlight our endorsed vendors, corporate members and other interested companies through prominently placed advertisements and sponsorship recognition. If you are looking for a great way to expand your market to the ‘rural space,’ then please don’t miss out. These opportunities are limited and the best ones will go first. This media kit is designed to walk you through the process, from selection, to purchasing, to ad placement and on to renewal. Please note our publication and conference deadlines to ensure that your company is positioned properly for future announcements and upcoming conferences. We look forward to serving you and helping you reach your goals.

“Rural Matters” Magazine........................................................................................................ 3 This is the premiere source for in-depth rural health articles and information with each quarterly issue focusing on a timely topic. The magazine will be limited to a very consumable 20-24 pages and will provide numerous, high-profile advertising locations, nestled between articles that are important to rural and community hospital leaders, as well as other rural health stakeholders. We consider this new magazine to be your newest and best opportunity to reach our members and we hope that you will reserve your ad space now for the rest of this year.

TORCH Weekly and HIT eNews Opportunities......................................................................... 7 Our weekly e-news platform has also been redesigned and will give a select number of vendors a very regular and ongoing opportunity to put their best marketing foot forward in 2013. Advertisement space is very limited for this email publication, but with 48 editions scheduled throughout the year, this is by far your best chance to promote your brand to rural and community hospitals, rural health clinics and many more. We want to ensure that the hospitals that receive our weekly news publication, are aware of the companies that support our members by making timely news and information available to them each and every week. Web site Advertising................................................................................................................ 9 The TORCH Web site is a great place to position your online advertisements directly in front of those with an interest in rural and community hospitals. The great news is that you also get the side-benefit of marketing to other rural health stakeholders and the general public as well. The TORCH web site is also linked to the pages for the TORCH Foundation and TORCH Management Services, Inc., both of which also serve a broad constituency of hospital leaders, staff and decision-makers. We will be able to provide you with an extremely broad reach at very low cost and you can be assured that you will be hitting your target market.

Conference Opportunities.......................................................................................................11 With nearly a meeting every month and a large-scale conference and tradeshow every other month, the year is chock full of dates and locations where your company can meet face to face with the decision makers at our rural and community hospitals, clinics and other providers. Each show has a different focus, audience, list of available amenities/ options, so it is important to study the calendar and to identify where your sponsorship and exhibit dollars are best spent. However, we can assure you that they are all high-value marketing opportunities and we would encourage you to consider more than one.

Producing Your Ad for Rural Matters 1. FONTS Be sure to embed all fonts used in the advertisement. If fonts are not included, similar fonts may be substituted and you may be subject to additional charges for manipulation to meet printer’s specifications. To avoid font issues with EPS files, convert all fonts to outlines. 2. COLOR Use process CMYK colors only (not RGB, spot, or index colors). Color adjust images in Photoshop only and convert all RGB images to CMYK before placing them in your ad. Do not embed color profiles in image files. Use a “rich black” 60% cyan and 100% black in 4-color ads for a deeper black color. 3. CROP MARKS/BLEED Extend all bleeds at least an 1/4 inch beyond all trim edges. Use crop marks to indicate bleed and trim for all bleed ads. Offset your crop marks enough to keep them out of the bleed (at least 3/16 inch). Live matter (which is anything important/necessary to the reader) should be kept at least 1/2 inch from all trim edges on Full Page ads and 1/8 inch from edges of all other ads. 4. IMAGE RESOLUTION All images in the ad must be at least 300 dpi. 5. PROOFS We prefer ads to be accompanied by a hard proof output at 100% for quality check purposes.

6. MAKE YOUR FILE A PDF For best results, create a print-resolution (300 dpi) PDF with live or vector type and all fonts embedded. Our preferred format is a PDF/x-1a or a press-ready PDF file. In the case that you are unable to provide a preferred PDF file type, please contact Judey Dozeto at 512.615.6278. Only then will we accept native source files from the following software programs: ADOBE INDESIGN (packaged files only) ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR (AI or EPS files with fonts converted to outlines only) ADOBE PHOTOSHOP (layered PSD files only) DO NOT send files from Microsoft Excel, Paint, Publisher, Word, or WordPerfect.
