Carols in the Cloisters 2025

Page 1

Toorak College is proudly partnering with local charity, ‘Mums Supporting Families In Need’, this festive season, offering those families a Christmas they will cherish forever.

MSFIN volunteers deliver Christmas presents to children who would otherwise miss out and food hampers to local families in need.

In the true spirit of giving, all proceeds from tonight’s battery candle, battery LED foam wand and reindeer ears will go to Mums Supporting Families in Need.

We have also been holding a donation drive, collecting presents and food hampers for families in our community.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO COUNTRY

Today and every day, we acknowledge the Bunurong People as the Traditional Owners of the land we live and learn on, here at Toorak College. With open hearts we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise their ongoing connection to the land and the bay, Nairm.

Our students, teachers and families are knowledge seekers. As we listen to the stories of the First Nations, we will question and reflect in order to continue our reconciliation journey.

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN

Frosty the Snowman was a jolly happy soul, With a corn cob pipe and a button nose And two eyes made out of coal.

Frosty the Snowman is a fairy tale they say, He was made of snow but the children know How he came to life one day.

There must have been some magic in The old silk hat they found. For when they placed it on his head He began to dance around. Oh,

Frosty the Snowman was alive as he could be. And the children say he could laugh and play Just the same as you and me.

Thumpety, thump, thump, thumpety, thump, thump. Look at Frosty go. Thumpety, thump, thump, thumpety, thump, thump. Over the hills of snow.

JOY TO THE WORLD

Joy to the world! The Lord is come; Let earth receive her King; Let ev’ry heart prepare Him room, And heav’n and nature sing, And heav’n and nature sing, And heav’n and nature sing,

Joy to the earth! The Savior reigns; Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy.

He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, But do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all?

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose, And if you ever saw it, You would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer

Used to laugh and call him names, They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say, “Rudolph with your nose so bright, Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”

Then how the reindeer loved him

As they shouted out with glee: “Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer, You’ll go down in history!”

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW

Oh the weather outside is frightful But the fire is so delightful, And since we’ve no place to go, Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

It doesn’t show signs of stopping, And I brought some corn for popping, The lights are turned way down low, Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight, How I hate going out in the storm! But if you’ll really hold me tight, All the way home I’ll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying, And my dear we’re still good-bye-ing, But as long as you love me so, Let it snow!

Let it snow! Let it snow!

ROCKIN’ AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE

Rockin’ around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party hop.

Mistletoe hung where you can see, ev’ry couple tries to stop.

Rockin’ around the Christmas tree let the Christmas spirit ring. Later we’ll have some pumpkin pie and we’ll do some caroling.

You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear.

Voices singing “Let’s be jolly, Deck the Halls with boughs of holly.”

Rockin’ around the Christmas tree have a happy holiday.

Everyone dancing merrily in the new old fashioned way.

You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear.

HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS

Have a holly jolly Christmas, it’s the best time of the year. I don’t know if there’ll be snow but have a cup of cheer.

Have a holly jolly Christmas, and when you walk down the street. Say hello to friends you know and everyone you meet.

Oh, ho, the mistletoe hung where you can see. Somebody waits for you. Kiss her once for me.

Have a holly jolly Christmas, and in case you didn’t hear.

Oh, by golly have a holly jolly Christmas this year. Christmas time this year!

SILENT NIGHT

Silent night! Holy night!

All is calm, all is bright.

Round yon Virgin Mother and Child, Holy infant, so tender and mild.

Sleep in heavenly peace,

Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent Night! Holy Night!

Shepherds quake at the sight!

Glories stream from Heaven afar

Heav’nly hosts sing Alleluia

Christ, the Saviour, is born!

Christ, the Saviour, is born!

Silent Night! Holy Night!

Son of God, love’s pure light

Radiant beams from Thy holy face

With the dawn of redeeming grace

Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth

Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
