Competa Artwalk In April In keeping with the cultural and artistic history of Cómpeta and indeed the province of Malaga, Semana Santa 2017 will once again see various international artists flock to Cómpeta to show their art and meet art lovers Since its inception almost 10 years ago, the Cómpeta Art Walk has grown in size and fame each year. Especially during the last three years, since Dutch artist and gallery-owner Lieuwke Loth took over organising the event, the Art Walk has grown considerably. This year the Art Walk will be host to professional artists from countries such as Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, England and more. On display will be paintings, drawings, textile art, ceramic art, bronze sculptures, turned wood and jewellery. The local and visiting artists will be delighted to meet with visitors, and talk about their inspiration, vision, and techniques - offering visitors a unique opportu-
nity to meet art and artist in person. Not to mention Cómpeta itself - a special kind of town. Perched high in the foothills of the Sierra Almijarra, this traditional ‘pueblo blanco’ combines stunning sea & mountain views, winding streets, a broad variety of excellent cuisine and an adorable community.
