FIDDLE UNDER THE ROOF BENEFIT CONCERT “Supporting The Projects of The Mishkan Torah Synagogue’s Burning The Mortgage”

Greenbelt, MD —March 9, 2013— following the success of our first show in 2007, the Mishkan Torah Synagogue in collaboration with Washington’s Entertainment Connection, invites you to our third concert event, featuring the renowned New Klezmer Quintet. “This is the Internationally Renowned Klezmer Band…The band that has played for many dignitaries, celebrities and heads of state, including the President of the United States!” This band has agreed to return to Greenbelt to perform this special benefit concert! The event is to celebrate the “Burning The Mortgage”— an extraordinary event in Greenbelt, Maryland. This Exclusive event will be limited to 500 seats. The event will take place at the Mishkan Torah Synagogue, located at 10 Ridge Rd Greenbelt, MD 20770. The evening will include music from the renowned New Klezmer Quintet, and will feature well-known Klezmer drummer Brian Choper, the extraordinary walking Klezmer clarinet Fred Jacobowitz, and one of the great pioneers of Bluegrass, Alan Oresky on violin. About Burning the Mortgage There is going to be some intensive fiddling for the roof on March 9, 2013 at Mishkan Torah. On that date, Brian Choper and the New Klezmer Quintet appear at 7:30 PM to celebrate the final payment on the roof loan. You will not want to miss this special occasion. The New Klezmer Quintet last appeared at Mishkan Torah in October 2011. The Quintet had the audience literally dancing in the aisles with its toe tapping renditions of its take on traditional festive Eastern European Klezmer Music. In addition to Brian Choper, the New Klezmer Quintet features perennial Mishkan Torah favorite Allen Oresky, the violinist brother of Saul Oresky. The Ways and Means Committee is sponsoring what promises to be an extraordinary event to celebrate the final discharge of the roof loan with joyous music. Tickets are $25 for adults if purchased before March 8, 2013 and $28 at the door for adults and $15 for teens and children.
