This project is an independent work in Domaine de Boisbuchet workshop at France.The main core of the workshop is taking familiar daily objects in series casting experiments and find ways to alter, then, redefine them and serve in new and unexpected purposes.In this project,I begin studying them with bottle and funnel.Initially, experiments show that bottles casting is more capable of manipulating and creating diverse possibility to create interest space.As a result,I start to focus on bottles casting mainly and create method to connect different pieces so as to build more complex form.
In this project,plaster was choosen as slurry material because it's efficiency and highly adjustable. On the other hand,sand is for mold's material as it is simple to shape in objects. To make casting easily, I search for objects that people are familiar with.In bunch of objects, bottle and funnel are attract me the most as both objects have characteristics of simple form and easy to operate.
Funnel is disitnguished by its feature that it can build in a ring form. However, it has limitation that it can only cast in veritical direction.On the other hand, bottles can castb either horizontally or vertically which generates two different forms.So it has more possibility to build stereoscopically.As a result,I start to do more experiments on bottles.

I started to develop a method to connect two pieces.To testfy it, I initially begin 2 pieces in vertical combination .The idea of joint method is to insert a dried piece into a non-dried piece and when the non-dry piece congeals,which brings out a new piece form.
One surface stands for one unit After connecting two pieces, I try to combine more pieces in polyhedron by the former method which bring out the teletrahedron.Tetrahedron, a form with fewer surface in three dimension corordinate, also can give great stability in the structure, so it fulfill econommically and steadily.
In a ciry, we have few opportunity to interact with nature.We spend almost 80% time in such artificial environment.Therefore, it's porous characteristic give an inspiration of tree capacity which lets people of city have more chance to interacting with tree.The interior space's aperture can let tree have well water and air circulation inside. Furthermore, the bottle form make people climb up thus allows people to sit or stand on it.This make it easier to pruning branches and also have great stability to protect the tree from gale.

"Architecture is the frozen music; music is the flowing architecture"-Goethe. Inspire by quotes and personal music background. This independent project's concept is to convert shapeless rhythm to tangible space. Therefore, I choose the first bars from Bach's piece: Perlude and Fugue in C major, BWV 846 to analyze it.In the process, I translate section into number music notation, then, I find that it has same regulation A-B-C-A cycle and element in C major's cadence. Afterward, I made new coordinate system, generating three different types of closed curve line, to present rhythm. By mutiply three types of closed curve line, a new form is generated and I use iron net to anolog curve surface which displays interaction between each layer and piece's rhythm.

C major's Cadence
I select the first 4 bars from Bach's piece: Perlude and Fugue in C major, BWV 846 and I find a cycle A-B-C-A in that section. Then I utilize number musical notation as a translator to convert notes into number.In the process, I find that it is composed by C major's cadence so it also has the same arrangement and cycle with section.

Twist the stave which generate a new coordinate system and all notes now can be considered as coordinate point.I start to put A,B,C term into the system, then, give point 's elevation and it cooresponds to note's pitch. Using black rod as a cadence part and acrylic rod as normal rhythm's part.
The plane is plan by cycle of A-B-C term so I make three part circle system as circumscribed.This pattern give piece's rhythm become tangible because it alternate shapeless melody into coordinate.

I start focus on the elevation coordinate because it represents rhythm's trend.Connect each elevation coordinate from the starting line which generates new curve line to analog melody and shape A-B-C rhythm as tangible.
Follow the A-B-C-A term on X-Y plane so I rotate B to 120° and C to 240° on Z axis.Then I manipulate it on Z plane which I rotate B to 180° from X-Y axis.Afterward,I mutiply the rhythm A-B-C line which creates a new curve form. Then I use iron net to anolog the curve surface.

The aperture of iron net leads shade to be in line merge with form and stacks itself in a cycle,like piece itself which is growing and rhythm in progress.It create two floor spaces which display each layer and rhythm's relationship.

This work is from National Chiao Tung University's fundemental design courses.The concept is by several translation and alternation to redefine the selected picture's light and shade.In series of alternation, I start thinking about cross scale and it's combination.Inspired by Mondrian's painting,the model present a contrast feeling which assembles straight line to build up a curve form.The unit connecting method is inspired by tenon techunique which can build staggerd line and also bring high stability in structure.
I start to focus on the phot's cross shade and the regulation of brick's outline. Therefore, by using charcoal to sketch the grandients of block and line, where I felt the photo presents the brick's layering effects and it's connection with shade. Translate sketch into geometry which alternates into blocks and straight lines with different thickness and colouring.Then I transform the geometric graphic to 3D model to display the sahde and the arrange ment of the brick.

Sea and dock-Mondrian
Inspired by shadow puppet play's concept, the model can alternate from 3D to 2D again and it's initial form would twist and mislead others. The presentation of projection's central part of line makes a link to Piet Mondrian's pieces: Sea and dock in 1915. I found thats it's arrangement is symmetry and it is composed only by multiplying staggered line. The paint's arrangement gives me a inspiration of assembling multiplying cross form to build a contradictory curve form
I found that cross's scale of width and length is 4:7. It determines the size of rectangle unit form where the width is 40mm and length is 70mm.The connection of two cardbsoards utilize tenon technique which join the rift of two units and it's position also determined by cross scale,1:2.5 too. This method can give great structure strength and flexibility.In order to change different direction,I design three types of cardboard. Red type is for an extension of form generally. Blue and green type are for changing form's direction.

The model is based on feeling of Mondrian's sea and dock.So 1-3 layer is designed as eclipse form and each layer is design as symmetry.The fourth layer is designed as a centural part converted by paint. In addition,I rotate each layer by 120 degree to present whole part like a spiral style.
The final model present a hemisphere form just like tree's leaf. It represnt a contrast feeling of using rectangle cardboards to create curve space. In addition, it's regulation give pieces rhythm and be kinesthetic, like leaf blow by wind.
I like to observe tiny and natural things, especially latus because of it's smooth color balance and harmony.It's represents nature's original esthetic creation.Moreover, Its vein's rhythm gives more inspiration of organic regulation.
This is a picture about Jiji Station which is a rebuil station from the collapsed one in Jiji earthquake happend at Jiji on September 21, 1999.9. This earthquake not only influences whole society of Taiwan people also change our conscience about dealing earthquake. This picture always reminds me of a permanent opportunity to reborn, even facing great obstruction and difficulty.
This is a shot take at my balcony.The sunset and cloud an interesting shapeless space.It seems like our surrounding has a lot of space we would meet everyday. But we often ignore it and take it as a granted. Hence,we will lose many opportunity to know that the beauty just next to us.This view remind me that I should keep watching details as it probably become my parameter someday.
Defocus brings kinesthetic feeling into picture and breaks form's contourline into blur.As for me,the picture's confusion and gradation is an alternationIn because the original scene is converted by filter and retinal. In other words, the form will emerge and all forms will unify and become simple line and block.
