Scanner and MFP Setup Instructions In order to send emails from your network scanner you will need to adjust the settings on your scanners and Multi-Function Printers (MFP’s). A. Setup Instructions for TLS Capable Copiers and MFP’s 1. Step 1: a. Change the Authentication Server from “mail.yourdomain” to “mail.elshosted.com”. b. Change the SMTP authentication and change the type to “TLS” or “SSL/TLS”. c. Use a valid email address and password. d. Set SMTP Port to 587 and save your settings. e. Test these settings and stop if successful. NOTE: On our Exchange server SMTP authentication is recommended and if used must be set to TLS. SSL will not work. If your Scanner or MFP is not capable of TLS then you must disable encryption and use one of the following alternative setups: B. Change the Authentication Server from “mail.yourdomain” to “mail.elshosted.com”. Disable SMTP encryption and change the SMTP Port # “2525”. Test these settings and stop if successful.
If Step 1 did not work change the SMTP Port to “25”. Set the SMTP authentication email address to “email@example.com”. (This is a non-valid email address that we will need to add to your whitelist on the SPAM filter.) c. Call us and ask us to add your SMTP authentication address to the SPAM filter’s Whitelist for your domain. d. Once the address has been whitelisted test these settings and stop if successful. 3. Step 3: a. If Step 2 did not work change the Authentication Server from “mail.elshosted.com” to “barracuda.elshosted.com”. b. Verify that the SMTP Port is set to “25”. c. Test these settings and stop if successful. 4. Step 4: a. If Step 3 did not work change the Authentication Server from “barracuda.elshosted.com” to “188.8.131.52”. b.
