RESIDENT/SPECIAL INTEREST CAMP DIRECTORY The Toledo Ballet Toledo Ballet’s Fairy Tale Camp keeps the little ones moving and exposes them to beloved classic fairy tales as they learn basic ballet steps, participate in storytelling, make fairy tale-related crafts and perform for loved ones at week’s end. Fairy Tale Camp is for young aspiring dancers ages 3 and 4 and 5 to 7 and is offered July 7 through 11. Toledo Ballet brings world-renowned guest artists to teach its Summer Intensives and Pre-Intensives July 14 through August 1. Former San Francisco principal dancer Soili Arvola returns to share her superb talents. We also welcome Miami City Ballet principals Tricia Albertson and Renato Penteado. Intensives are open to dancers level Intermediate II and up (ABT Levels 4 and up), and Pre-Intensives are open to dancers level Advanced Beginning and Intermediate I (ABT Levels 3 & Introduction of Level 4). Broadway veteran and Toledo Ballet School /Artistic Director Lisa Mayer, along with husband and choreographer Michael Lang, will conduct a Musical Theatre Intensive July 7 through 11. Mayer and Lang enjoyed decades-long careers performing internationally and met while performing on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast. This intensive includes classes in Broadway-style jazz, voice, acting, and auditioning. Regular dance classes are also offered throughout the summer, including ballet, jazz, contemporary fusion, and more. Founded in 1939, Toledo Ballet has the longest running annual production of Nutcracker in the entire country. Toledo Ballet School offers the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, an 8-level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. In addition to ballet, TB offers an extensive contemporary division as well as health and fitness classes.
