Siwa is the most amazing area of all Egyptian Oases. Positioned near the Libyan-Egyptian borders in the western desert. Siwa has had many distinct names . Historical Egyptians used to call it Santar , while ancient Arabs named it Santariya. The Greek named it The Oases of Jupiter-Ammun. Siwans descendent generally from North African Berber and they have their unique language, tradition and events ! They communicate a mixture and a assortment of the Berber language of North Africa. They converse Siwi language among theirselves and among their own family. There are a couple of temples in Siwa that we know of, both committed to Amun, and they were set up by Ahmose II and Nectanebo II. With respect to the historic historian Herodotus, the Persian king Cambyses II dispatched an army of 50,000 men through the Egyptian desert to assault the Oracle of Amun, a temple in Siwa. During their trip, the legion appeared to be overtaken by a sandstorm, and not one of them were ever seen once again.
