AGE 26 JOB Director of Social Responsibility at Kentucky Distillers’ Association WORKOUT SPOT Seneca Park, Cherokee Park, and Rudy Lane HER PASSION A few years ago I dated an Ironman and wanted to keep up. I learned I could run and bike distances I couldn’t believe, and I had fun doing it once I got over my fear of being unable. Now, running and biking introduces me to new people and new adventures around town. BIG WIN Running in the Kentucky Derby Mini Marathon. I ran three days a week at Seneca Park with Anna and cross-trained with her at CycleBar. We also tracked and shared our workouts on apps like MapMyRun to encourage each other and hold ourselves accountable.

AUGUST 2017 / TODAY’S WOMAN
AGE 26 JOB Memory Program Coordinator at Belmont Village WORKOUT SPOT LA Fitness in St. Matthews FITNESS ATTRACTION About a year ago I met my friend Ali Edelstein at a church group. We bumped into each other at Seneca Park. She was running, and I was walking my dog. I have never been a runner, and I hated the thought of it. I thought Ali was a super cool person and I wanted to become her friend, so when she invited me to jog with her in the mornings before work, I thought I’d give it a shot. Soon enough we were jogging regularly, and she had convinced me to register for the Derby Half Marathon. I went from zero to 13.1 in six months. BIG WIN Running the Derby Half Marathon was the hardest thing I have ever done physically. I have never been big into working out or running, so it was a huge deal that I finished the race in under 2hrs30min.
