NAME: Katie Mac Murphy AGE: 26 JOB: Fashion Stylist and Image/Wardrobe Consultant for the Tracy Varga Group LIVES IN: Crescent Hill Fashion has been Katie Mac Murphy’s passion since age 7. As a child, she would go to the butler’s pantry — also known as “the secret room” — inside of her parents’ home. While there, she’d tear out images of models and clothing from fashion magazines and use them to create large scrapbooks and collages. Nineteen years later, she still makes collages for inspiration to nurture her personal style and skill as a fashion stylist. In her job, Katie helps clients develop a style based on their personality, preferences, and body shape. “This is what I love to do,” she says. Katie places a high value on the satisfaction she gets from working with people in the fashion industry — whether they are clients or fellow colleagues. Twice a week, she works at Clodhoppers which gives her an opportunity to network with like-minded people while growing her client list. For relaxation, Katie enjoys exercising and traveling. “On my wall, I have a magnetic map of the world with pins placed on all of the places I want to go.” FASHION SHE’S WEARING: “I love layers, texture, mixed metals, and mixing masculine and feminine. That is part of me. I love leather, lace and fur, and fringe. Sometimes I don’t like to be put into a box.”
