FROM CLEANING THE STREETS, AND REVAMPING THE HOMES OF THE DISADVANTAGED, TO VARIOUS DEEDS OF GOOD WILL, THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, ABOUT 8 MILLION ADVENTIST YOUTH SHARED THEMSELVES SEEKING TO "BE THE SERMON", THE MOTTO OF MARCH 15, BRANDED ON THEIR SHIRTS. THERE IS NO DOUBT IT IS BETTER TO LIVE A SERMON THAN PREACHING ONE. THE TRANS-ORANGE CONFERENCE (TOC) ADVENTIST YOUTH WERE PART OF THIS GLOBAL THEME. THE STREETS OF KIMBERLEY, JOHANNESBURG AND MANY OTHER CITIES CITED THE PRESENCE OF OUR YOUTH. IF ANY CHRISTIAN BELIEVER BRANDED THEIR WORDS, ACTION, INFLUENCE AND ATTITUDE AS THE SHIRTS ON THEIR BACK; NO WONDER THE IMPACT THEY MADE REMAINS IMMEASURABLE. WE PRIDE OURSELVES WITH GOD'S FAITHFUL LEADERS, WHO TOOK THE CHALLENGE TO PLAN, GUIDE AND EXECUTE "SERMONS" IN KIND TO THE WORLD. SOUTH AFRICA IS NOT THE SAME. PS SEIKANENG, TOC ADVENTIST YOUTH DIRECTOR LED OUT A YOUTH GROUP THAT IMPACTED POLOKWANE IN FLORA PARK. GOD STILL HAS A PEOPLE WILLING TO SERVE HIM.

MISSION TO THE CITIES The church's initiative to evangelize urban communities and big cities address both the need to re-generate individuals for Christ but also shows the intention to share the gospel with all people. Among the big cities targeted for Christ is Johannesburg, Pretoria, Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Witbank, Rustenburg, Polokwane and Nelspruit. In this triennial there is a deliberate intention to intensify mission work in these light filled streets. Lifestyle campaigns and gospel outreach programs have begun. Beyond the bright lights, traffic jams and opportunities that change lives; God has ordained that every life receive the greater Light of the world. Over R1,4 million has been budgeted to reach out for these cities. Our Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director, Ps Mdlalose, has lined out a strategy to combine the efforts of both clergy and laity in mission. The President of the TOC, Dr. J. Mongwe, has since introduced a full time position of an evangelist, filled by Ps Mbatha; who in Ottosdal, North West, was evidently used by God, in the lives of 15 people he baptized and 8 more joining a Bible class. A new Sabbath School branch and a Pathfinder club of 21 have been established!

Over life's tempestuous sea; Unknown waves before me roll, Thou canst hush the ocean wild; Wondrous Sovereign of the sea, May I hear Thee say to me, "Fear not, I will pilot thee."

Words Extracted from:Hymn: Jesus Saviour Pilot Me Author: Edward Hopper, 1871

The three pillars summarize the strategic direction of the conference in this triennial. Soon after the regular session TOC Executive Committee met and prayerfully seeking The Lord in prayer. The pillars are informed by the current status of the conference and the commitment to redirect the church's attention to mission. The first quarter of 2013 introduced what was seemingly a division of sorts that sook to steal away the attention of the church away from mission. While fragments of this nature are evident among families, fellowship groups, friends and colleagues; God has been keeping us through and through. Like the faith of Abraham in the Bible, the church stubbornly is growing from faith to faith. Our walk with God has been tested and strengthened. We wish to invite both the clergy and laity, leaders and followers, to march on to the mark. The enemy of our souls seeks to derail us just when the Saviour is even at the door. Let us build bridges of hope, to reach to all around us, to remember that we wrestle not with anything but the principalities of evil. It is vital to hide under the shadow of God's wings. More than ten new ministers have been added to the plough, which is evidence of God's faithfulness in the stewardship of His church. Like an eagle we wait upon The Lord to raise even at higher heights. We are committed to spreading the gospel, reaching out to the discouraged, and searching the precepts that found our faith, that all may be one.

Departmental promotions have been completed throughout the conference, where members have been trained and assisted on how to make a plough in God's vineyard. The church leaders prepared material shared the church objectives communicated by every department. The President took time to address all districts on topical matters pertaining the health of the conference and God's faithfulness which evidently remains fresh every morning. Bet ween the long hours of driving and meeting saints throughout the conference, we recall God's traveling mercies that from the roads that claim many lives, both the church and the leaders were kept safe. Donations are welcome to share a blanket or clothing this winter with someone. Call TOC MOWCS and Youth Now and help transform lives!!!

MOWCS TOC Meadowlands Zone 7, SOWETO On the 13th of December 2013 the staff of Centurion Gate Motors, in Northgate Johannesburg hosted a food packing parcel day in partnership with Sizani Foods. The donor requested that the food parcels be handed out in Soweto. 300 Staff members took part in the food packing parcel day. 500 parcels were packed in less than 2 hours. The staff were divided into three groups and began the race to see who could pack the most food parcels.

More Ministers Ordained Eleven ministers have been added to the full time gospel ministry of the church, through the ordination service. Historians store a new record of number of ministers ordained at the same time in the TOC. The leadership of the Southern-Africa Union Conference (SAUC) set aside the 15 February 2014 to ordain these ministers. The guest of honour was Dr Maphosa, Southern-Africa Indian Ocean Division (SID) Executive Secretary, as the preacher of the day. The need for Gideon's of today was stressed and the appeal made; to take up the cross, trust God, lead others and follow humbly, yet boldly in the footsteps of the Master. As all the ordinants heeded to this appeal, the ordination service was conducted, in support of all TOC ministers present and senior ministers assisted in the laying of hands. The Springs Indoor Sports Centre was full of praises to God, as the ministers in the support of their families were ordained into full time ministry of the global community in the SDA church.. Tears of joy were visible from the ordinants and their families during this event. Music artists, groups and choirs such as, Katlehong Central Church Choir, Orlando West Church Choir, Sonwabo, Ps Maphonga J III, Gcina and Fisokuhle Nhlapo and Maranatha Soul Seekers (MSS), blessed the occasion with song. The newly ordained ministers were able to share their recommitment to service and the TOC president closed the program with a message of hope, "stay in the boat"!

SAD BLOG! We begun this year with another blow when we received the sad news that one of our devoted ministers, Ps Lebuso, passed away. On the 1st January 2014, the TOC church family gathered in Excelsior, Mahlatswetsa where he was born, together with his family, friends and community in his memorial service. The funeral took place in Johannesburg where he was laid to rest as a minister in active service. He too was waiting for the ordination day. We will continue to pray for his wife, kids, and family. This soldier of the cross died "with his boots on", while serving The Lord at the TOC youth camp in Amanzimtoti. We are encouraged by his favourite text, Isaiah 40:28-31, and will await the day of The Lord coming, when all the dead in Christ shall rise. 4 !

TRANS-ORANGE CONFERENCE

The Adventist church over the years have established these forms of reaching lives, in 24 hours of the day, and for seven days a week. In this way, we have an opportunity to attend to the whole person; physical, spiritual, mental, and social programming. Many have met the Saviour through these appealing programs, documentaries, debates, live shows and many more. Yet this are reliable forms of reaching lives where missionaries cannot reach. Among other plans is the TOC Media Centre, for all video and audio production, editing, music, interpretations and all media related projects. We seek to produce quality material, contextualized to our people in our territory but also preparing competitive content for all our broadcasting methods, including the TOC Newsletter. With Hope Africa starting in few days we've realized our unreadiness for this initiative and need to swiftly bring together all our life stories, collected every Sabbath and every week from every church, transforming lives in our communities, and ensuring effective communication models that are technologically advanced to meet our current needs. To realize this, we need every church communication secretary to devote themselves in the development, collection, and report of same.

!

The communication department of the church is designed to ensure the church has effective, real time strategies and ways of reaching lives; but most of all, share the advent hope to everyone, using information technology, broadcasting in TV and Radio, newsletters and magazines, branded emails for workers and churches as the beginning of our transformation. For long we watched strangers, other cultures and people groups embracing the hope of the Saviour, the TIME IS NOW. Let us develop TOC content to share with the world. Maranatha Magazine, Signs of the Time, Adventist World Radio, and Hope Africa are official media institutions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We therefore encourage the church to listen in, watch frequently and invite even more people, in this way we are building sustainable bridges of hope! TOC Communications goal for 2014 alone is to reach 5 million people in our territory, sharing the advent hope!

1 QUARTER 2014

TOC Tribute The TOC is a unique and vibrant conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Over the years we have had the joy of God's servants and their families, ministering in the TOC and beyond. We thank The Lord for the ministry of Ps Mautla who served the church for more than 40 years and his family. As he took retirement this past quarter, we remember how he served as a conference director in various departments, directed a number of districts with many ministers and interns under his care. Several men and women today in our church are as a result of his good work, in service to Christ. We wish him and his family a good time rest in their pension years and like many others, remain heralding the advent gospel where they are till Jesus' appearing. We welcome the new ministers who have joined the ranks, and wish them a great time as we shall together continue to make a plough. Our wish is to see continued teamwork on both pastors, staff and lay members. God does reward good work and ahead, there lies a crown of righteousness for the faithful. Great thanks to the fantastic team players visible through tough times we had together. Long hours of sacrifice, hard work and doing more than required has been what brought us this far. We never forget the faithfulness of men and women, young and old, who have been praying for this conference, and remained faithful in guarding God's work with jealousy, the faithful support in tithes
