G4500 SERIES READY FOR THE FUTURE

 FOREWORD

READY FOR THE FUTURE! So much has happened within TOBROCO-GIANT throughout the past few years and there were many highlights, and within the coming years there are still many changes to look forward to. In this new TOBROCO-GIANT magazine there is a lot to read about the most important events of the past years and various future plans. One of the highlights that really stands out was winning the King Willem I Award for Best SME of the Netherlands in 2016. It was incredibly special to receive this award from Queen Máxima. This price was proof that we are doing things right as a company, because this award was not possible without our employees and dealers. As a reward for the hard work, Queen Máxima visited the factory in Oisterwijk, June 2017. A group photo of all staff with the queen made this a day to never forget.

“This proves that we are doing things right as a company.” Due to the continuous demand for TOBROCO-GIANT, our production has increased rapidly in the recent years. Our goal is to build at least 4,500 machines in 2020 and we will achieve that goal for sure. Therefore, the coming years we will invest in a new and modern facility and expansion of the current factory. First, the Research & Development Centre and sales department will move to a new location in Oisterwijk. This property will accommodate all the technical features that are necessary to develop new and innovative products. TOBROCO-GIANT will invest in and focus on cleaner stage V diesel engines and electrically driven machines in the coming years. Besides this new building, the production will be expanded step by step at the current location. In total the production facility will be increased by 8,000 m2 and will be divided over two storeys to make optimal use of the available space. There will also be the new and modern production lines that run LEAN. For the storage of parts for production and service, a high-rise warehouse of 16 meters high will be built. An automation system controls the entire logistics process and ensures that the right numbers are picked up from the warehouse. “Ready for the future.” All investments in buildings, personnel and new machines will ensure that TOBROCO-GIANT is ready for the future. Together with a large team of enthusiastic employees, machines are developed and built that meet all the wishes and requirements of customers worldwide. Enjoy reading the new TOBROCO-GIANT magazine! TOBROCO MACHINES BECOMES TOBROCO-GIANT NEW LOGO The new brand name has necessitated a change in the logo. The GIANT logo, as shown on the machines, has been added “BY TOBROCO”. In addition, an emblem has been developed in which the characteristic GIANT wheel loader is displayed. Both elements form the new TOBROCO-GIANT logo and will be implemented in all expressions. This includes printing, websites, merchandising, ads and all other media.

TOBROCO Machines has grown rapidly in recent years and the number of GIANT machines produced is growing just as fast. We produced and delivered the 15,000th machine in February this year. Also, the international dealer network is expanding and our machines are available in more than 40 countries worldwide. Now that TOBROCO Machines is becoming a global player on the market, there was the need for an international brand name. TOBROCO-GIANT indicates the relationship between the manufacturer (TOBROCO Machines) and products (GIANT machinery). Furthermore, the brand name is unique and protected worldwide.

New production facility in Eger, Hungary.

The characteristic ant will disappear from the logo, but will remain on the machines and various other expressions. Print and advertisements are advertised with the slogan: Compact design, BIG in performance. This clarifies the relationship between the machines and the ant. GIANT stands for Gigantic ANT because these working animals are able to carry anywhere from 10 to 50 times their body weight.

TOBROCO-GIANT USA KICKS OFF GIANT machines are currently sold in over 40 countries around the world. America is one of them and is a country with a lot of potential. At present, the market of compact loaders is dominated by skid steers, but the smaller wheel loaders are gaining popularity. More and more companies choose compact wheel loaders because of the comfort, ease of operation, fuel savings and the fact that the machines hardly damage the ground surface.

READY FOR THE FUTURE With the new brand name and the new logo, there is uniformity in the corporate style. In addition, TOBROCO-GIANT can grow internationally as a brand and raise awareness for its machines. 

Because of these developments, TOBROCO-GIANT has taken the step of opening its own establishment in Des Moines. From this sales and service office in the state of Iowa, a team of employees has been active since October 2016 to support dealers in sales, training, service and parts. “It’s important to be close to customers so we can provide local support,” says the company manager of TOBROCO-GIANT USA. Participation in various events is one of the first steps to increase brand awareness and to seek dealers who recognize the increasing demand for compact (telescopic) wheel loaders.

LOOKING BACK ON QUEEN MAXIMA’S VISIT TO TOBROCO-GIANT MACHINES From the drawing room to the R&D center and from the sales office to the production line. Queen Máxima took her time to visit TOBROCOGIANT in Oisterwijk, The Netherlands on Thursday, June 8th. The compact machinery manufacturer won the King Willem I Prize last year in the small and medium-sized category and could expect a royal visit as a follow up. Queen Máxima is the honorary chairman of the King Willem I Foundation. TOBROCO-GIANT is the manufacturer of GIANT-branded compact machinery for the green industry, agriculture, construction and other applications. The company won the King Willem I Prize - the ‘Oscar’ of Dutch business - by its daring, power, durability and perseverance. CEO Toine Brock gave Queen Máxima a plant tour and told about the innovations that TOBROCO-GIANT applies to the development of new machines and in the production process. A LOOK BACK Queen Máxima was introduced to environmentally friendly machinery in the R&D center. Specifically for developing new machines, research and development center was opened in 2016 to build and test prototypes.

At the production line, Queen Máxima was consulted about the paperless running of this line and the routing of the machines. TOBROCO-GIANT offers one of the broadest portfolios in the industry with a total of 36 different models in forty countries. After a demonstration on the outdoor grounds it was time for a group photo with the more than 180 employees. After the staff cheered spontaneously when Queen Máxima arrived, she took a nice spot between Toine Brock and his wife Caroline. With a broad attendance of the public and the invited press, the Queen said farewell after a one and a half hour during visit. “This visit shows that our hard work has paid off,” said Toine Brock after Queen Máxima was in the car. 

All machines are designed and built in the modern factory in Oisterwijk.

TOBROCO-GIANT ‘CROWNED’ THE BEST SME IN THE NETHERLANDS During a ceremony last evening, TOBROCO-GIANT received the 2016 King Willem I Award in the category of Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) from the hands of Her Majesty Queen Máxima of The Netherlands. This national entrepreneurial prize is awarded every two years since 1958 to companies which have shown outstanding entrepreneurship. The board of the King Willem I Foundation expressed its appreciation for the manner in which TOBROCO-GIANT has developed into a manufacturer of high quality machinery and exports them worldwide. Owner and founder Toine Brock: “We are very proud of this great achievement. It would not have been possible without our coworkers and dealers”.

The award winners were praised during the ceremony for their courage, decisiveness, perseverance, sustainability and innovation; the features that distinguishes a great company from the good ones. Among the more than 250 attendees were many dignitaries including the President of the Dutch Central Bank, Commissioner of the King and the mayor of Eindhoven. In addition, the top of the Dutch business community was represented including previous award winners of the King Willem I prize. 

TOBROCO-GIANT INTRODUCES NEW G4500 RANGE! TOBROCO-GIANT will reveal two machines from a complete new range during AgriTechnica. At stand A40 in hall 6, the G4500 and G4500 TELE will make their exclusive debut during the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery. These two models are the only two machines from a complete new range that will exist of nine models. The compact and manoeuvrable G4500 machines will become the standard for productivity, comfort and reliability. From the middle of 2018 the first machines will be delivered to customers in Europe. READY FOR THE FUTURE In mid-2016, a new Research & Development Centre was opened at the factory of TOBROCOGIANT to develop and build new machines and options. Furthermore, the engineering department has expanded considerably so that all the knowledge is in-house to develop new machines. The G4500 series is the first product of these investments and gives a glimpse into the future of new GIANT machines. BIG IN PERFORMANCE Like all GIANT machines, the G4500 models will distinguish themselves by a high tipping load compared to their own weight. Depending on the options, the G4500 with Z-bar has a tipping load between 3,500 and 4,000 kg (measured with hinge point in lower position). For extremely heavy work there is the G4500 X-TRA. It has a lower front frame and can lift even more weight due to its low centre of gravity. Because of these features, the X-TRA models have become extremely popular for construction workers and ground care. A G4500 X-TRA has a tipping load between 3,500kg and 5,000 kg (measured with hinge point in lower position). There are three different Kubota diesel engines available for the G4500 machines. First of all, a 36 kW / 50 hp version, which is already available in various current models. In addition, two new engines are available, a 46 kW / 66 hp variant and a 54 kW /

74 hp version. Both are equipped with a catalytic converter (DOC) and soot filter (DPF) and meet the latest, Stage V, clean engine standards. The machines are developed with productivity as one of the spearheads. Whether transporting large quantities of loads or roughworking activities, the hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive control (Rexroth) and 100% switchable lock on both, 16-tons, axles always provides enough grip, a lot of pulling force and smooth movement. Optionally, the driving speed can be increased to 35 km/h, which improves productivity even more. In addition, various hydraulic systems are available. The basic machine will be equipped with a direct-driven hydraulic system on the joystick, which can be extended to a servo-controlled version. A high flow version will also be available and can deliver 120 L/min to the chosen attachment. In this way, we can meet the wish of every customer. SAFETY AND COMFORT A combination of safety and comfort ensures that the operator can carry out his work in a responsible manner. The machines are standard equipped with a safety roof and this can optionally be extended to a, silent, full-option cabin. The G4500 machines have been extensively tested on safety by an independent authority and are internationally ROPS/FOPS certified. All-round visibility gives the operator an excellent view

on his work and allows safe and precise operation. A comfortable working environment has been created in the cabin so long working days are no problem. The steering column is adjustable and all necessary information can easily be read from a central display. While using the joystick, the operator can rest his arm on ergonomically shaped armrest. All key functions are close to the joystick so that they can be easily operated. The articulated pendulum joint gives the G4500 machines extreme manoeuvrability, accuracy and off-road mobility. Optionally, it is possible to equip the machines with the patented Stabilo System or boom suspension. Both options provide extra safety and comfort because unevenness’s are absorbed without any compromise to the performance.

is convenient access to the various filters, they can be cleaned or replaced quickly. Information about oil temperature, regeneration, power modes, etc., can be read from the dashboard so that you can always see these important data during work. THE CUSTOMER’S WISHES G4500 machines can be configured according to the customers wishes. Starting with the selection for Z-bar, X-TRA or TELE model. Then there is a choice of a 50 hp, diesel engine that is Stage V ready. Also with regard to the options there are plenty of possibilities. Consider the choices for a cabin or safety roof, increased driving speed, air conditioning, additional counterweight and up to 5 doubleacting hydraulic functions at the front. This gives customers the opportunity to assemble the machine precisely for the work that needs to be done and for a competitive price. 

SOLID INVESTMENT TOBROCO-GIANT are a solid investment because of their reliability and high productivity. Only the best components have been chosen and tested extensively before they were applied to the G4500 series. TOBROCO-GIANT works closely with quality suppliers like Bosch Rexroth, Comer, Kubota and Hydac during the development of new machines. Performing maintenance to the machines is easy because the service points are simple to reach. By opening the hood, there

EXPANSION TOBROCO-GIANT IN OISTERWIJK TOBROCO-GIANT has grown rapidly in recent years. Due to the continuous demand for loaders, telehandlers and skid steers as well as the introduction of new models, the demand has exceeded exceeded GIANTS expectations. For the coming years the expectations are that the demand will increase even further and therefore TOBROCOGIANT will expand its current production facility in Oisterwijk.

First, Research & Development and the sales department move to a new and modern location in Oisterwijk. The newly built property will accommodate all the technical gadgets that are necessary to develop new and innovative products. TOBROCO-GIANT will invest in cleaner stage V diesel engines and electrically powered machines in the coming years. The current location where R & D and sales are located will be added to the production site, which will result in more capacity.

INCREASED PRODUCTION AREA The expansion of production at the current location will take place in different stages. In total, the production facility will be increased with 8,000 m2 and continues to be divided over two storeys to make optimal use of the available space. There will be the new production lines that run LEAN and also the “paperless” production will be implemented even further. In addition, more pre-assembly will take place and will be centralised . This improves lead times and components can be transported faster to the production lines. Automation is further balanced with various suppliers. Furthermore, TOBROCOGIANT continues to invest in welding techniques such as the 2 newly installed welding robots, bending machines and spindle machines. This will help to increase production and the optimise the quality.

SMART STORAGE AND INTERNAL DISTRIBUTION For the storage of parts, production and service, a high-rise warehouse of 16 meters high will be built. The warehouse will be driven completely automatically. Incoming goods for the warehouse will be received via several new loading docks. This ensures that the parts and finished products will not cross each other anymore. Roller banks are used to transport the incoming goods to the temporary storage location where various (quality) checks take place. Some of the goods then go directly to production and a part is stored in the warehouse. Just in time delivery and maintaining high quality are the “key words”.

 Impression from the renovation plans in Oisterwijk.

In order to ensure an efficient supply of parts, there has already been an investment in a new automation system. A computer system controls the entire logistics process and ensures that the right quantities are picked up from the warehouse. Electric trolleys will make various rounds on a daily basis and ensure that everything will be in the right place. During the building process the possibility for adding conveyor belts at a later stage will be taken into account. 

 TESTIMONIAL GIANT MAKES HEAVY WORK LEIGHT!

Rüdiger Triebs (left), MENGER & SANDMANN GmbH

“In mid-2014 the first GIANTS were sold here in the region. I saw the machines for the first time during my visit to an open day at a dealer in the Netherlands. The compact dimensions and high lifting power immediately attracted my attention.“ The company was founded in 1993 by Menger and Sandmann. However, since 2009, the family company is co-led by Rüdiger Triebs. Over 20 years of experience in sales and rental and maintenance of construction machinery have made it a well-known company in the Osnabrück region for everything that comes with compact machines. Menger & Sandmann specializes in de brands TOBROCO-GIANT and Hitachi. In total, 5 employees work on customer-specific solutions on a daily basis. “We support our customers in various applications. Assembling a level board or stone clamp is not a problem for us. Mechanizing as much work as possible is top priority for us

and our customer.“ Menger & Sandmann has been selling TOBROCOGIANT shovels to customers in construction and greenkeeping for over 3 years already. Cooperation with German importer KIESEL (construction & demolition) plays a crucial role. Due to the good communication between dealer, importer and factory, problems have been solved fast and questions are answered quickly. The forecast system allows sold machines to be delivered within 8 weeks. In addition, Menger & Sandmann always tries to have machines in stock for demonstrations or to rent them out. Another advantage of the collaboration between TOBROCO-GIANT and Menger & Sandmann is the proximity of the modern factory in Oisterwijk. Customers that are doubting are invited for a tour. So the customer can see for themself which components are used in his machine. “Because of the well-organized production line, we were able to convince many customers so far,” said Rüdiger Triebs.

The most popular model remains the V452T X-TRA. “This is a great machine! This wheel loader has a low service weight but is extremely powerful. Lifting a pallet is no problem. In addition, the machine can be transported without a problem on a normal trailer “. Rüdiger Triebs is looking forward to the new series of wheel loaders. He expects

much of the G4500 class. “With this machine the range is complete. The range of TOBROCO-GIANT models is gigantic, but with this addition in the 4.5T class we can approach customers who have not been interested in us until recently. I am convinced that the new machine will be as strong, reliable and of high quality as any other TOBROCO-GIANT model!“ 

DEVELOPMENTS TOBROCO-GIANT KFT IN HUNGARY

TOBROCO-GIANT SETS UP UK HEAD OFFICE TOBROCO-GIANT has had a presence in the UK for some time and due to increasing demand GIANT has decided to set up a UK head office with a state-of-the-art showroom, workshop and parts department as well as a highly skilled sales team.

Offering a range of 16 compact loaders, telehandlers and skid steers that have the ability to be transported on a trailer, they also offer over 100 attachment options making your life easier by using one machine for multiple jobs. The machines have been handpicked out of the 36 models that TOBROCO-GIANT offers by owner Toine Brock and UK managing director, Scott Worsley. Owner, Toine Brock is excited to see the growth in the UK market: “In the UK there is still a niche market for compact equipment. NEW X-TRA MODEL FOR TOBROCO-GIANT

D337T X-TRA

Since 2013, the production of frames and attachments are taking place at TOBROCOGIANT KFT in the Eger, Hungary. There are many reasons for an own production facility in Hungary; one is because of the lower costs and the other ensures quality remains guaranteed. Another big advantage is the short distance and the flexibility. Within a few hours it is possible to visit the factory from Oisterwijk. This makes sharing knowledge and experience easy. In Hungary it is also clear that sales figures of GIANT machines and attachments have risen rapidly. In order to keep up with production, there has been a lot of investments over the past year and several investments will take place in the coming years. Already in the field of staff, there has been a considerable growth. At the start in 2013, 40 employees were active and that number has now doubled to 95 employees. Operations are optimised by introducing a software system, which is used in both the Netherlands and Hungary. Furthermore, there is a new drawing program on the agenda to simplify the development of new attachments. In the factory itself a welding robot has recently been installed. This one has been taken into use at the same time as the welding robot in the Netherlands. Both robots have the same software and can communicate with each other. This makes it possible to transcend what is being worked out in the Netherlands directly to Hungary and vice versa. In order to be able to do more in-house there will be investments in 2018 for a machine that laser cuts sheets of material. With these investments in people and machines, TOBROCO-GIANT KFT is ready for the future! 

Besides the standard GIANT D337, this model will now be available in the X-TRA version as well. The D337T X-TRA has a lower front frame and thus a lower centre of gravity. Resulting in excellence on the attachments and stability of the machine, as well as the biggest advantage of an increased lifting capacity. A D337T X-TRA has a tipping load of 2.054 kg in comparison with 1.450 kg for the standard model. The new wheel loader has a 33 hp, 3-cylinder Kubota diesel engine and is equipped with a hydraulic pump from Bosch Rexroth for smooth and powerful driving characteristics. The service weight of the machines is 2.200 kg (measured with earth bucket) and the lifting height is 2.45 m. Like all GIANT machines the pendulum joint between the front and back frame is completely free from maintenance. The D337T X-TRA is driven by hydrostatic four-wheel drive with automotive control and automatic differential lock on both axles. This

gives the machine a maximum driving speed of 18 km/h. The D337T X-TRA can be delivered as HD version. The “Heavy Duty” version will be equipped with a bigger hydraulic pump. A great advantage of this option is that the machine will have extra tractive force in its second gear. To meet with European regulations, the X-TRA model as standard is equipped with a ROPS/FOPS safety roof and safety doors. Also, optional extras include; a safety roof deluxe, foldable safety roof or cabin are available for this model. 

15.000 GIANT ROLLS OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE TH

TOBROCO-GIANT and its factory in Oisterwijk, the Netherlands, reached a milestone with the 15,000th GIANT rolling off the production line last week! This exciting time was celebrated with a special ceremony where founder and owner Toine Brock handed the keys of the 15,000th machine over to Karel Beel, director of Firma Beel. Firma Beel is one of GIANT’s first dealers and has sold GIANT machines in Belgium since 2002. After years of their dedication and hard work, Firme Beel have become the exclusive importer of GIANT machinery for Belgium since 2011 and for France since 2015.

STRONG GROWTH The first GIANT wheel loader was produced in 2001 and since then the demand for TOBROCO-GIANT has increased rapidly. Because of this demand and the expansion of the range with telescopic loaders and telehandlers, TOBROCOGIANT produced the 10,000th machine in 2014. In 2016 the company has recorded a seventh consecutive year of annual sales growth as manufactures of GIANT machinery. This growth was achieved by the introduction of new models such as skid steer loaders and the expansion of its worldwide dealer network. The increased sales have meant a 50% rise in produced machines within three years as last week the 15,000th GIANT rolled off the production line. 

advice. Due to changes in the legislation, clients ask for the knowledge of Brouwers Groenaannemers. Ronald: “Nature and biodiversity law is a very specific knowledge and often clients don’t have enough experience with these laws. They like to know how the work can be done without damage to the protected plant and animal species.“ SOLID AND POWERFUL Facility Manager Jeroen Brouwers spoke about the choice of machines TOBROCO-GIANT offer. “In 2012 we were looking

for a new loader. From various companies in the market we heard that GIANT machines are very solid. This was important to us because it may occur that someone else is working with the machine every day. We chose a D332SWT X-TRA because of its compact size, high tractive force and lifting power. “ Ronald emphasises the choice for TOBROCO-GIANT and explains where the machine is used: “For the construction and maintenance of semi-hardening paths or small-scale projects, the machine is perfect. For example,

to install steps in private gardens or to supply and remove materials around hospitals. In places where there is little space, we can still fit our GIANT machines. Where somebody can go with a buggy, we can go there as well! “ Brouwers Groenaannemers is so pleased with their loader that they have purchased a second GIANT. The V452T X-TRA HD they chose as its one class bigger but can still be transported on a trailer. 

“We have a broad group of customers and just as many appealing projects. Think of the Efteling (one of the largest them parks in Europe), where we were responsible for the creation of the gardens around the various attractions like Symbolica and Baron 1898,” says director Ronald Kusters.
