ennessee Sports is a complimentary full color glossy magazine geared to the powerful and passionate subject of sports – Tennessee sports! Our award-winning designers, photographers and writers cover the high energy and excitement of all sports from the four corners of Tennessee. From high school and college events to the exciting realm of professional football, baseball, basketball, hockey or golf – rest assured – Tennessee Sports will be there. And lets not forget the great outdoors of beautiful Tennessee where hunting and fishing reign supreme. Larry Woody, who is considered one of the finest writers and leading authorities on the subject, brings his keen insight and humor to Tennessee Sports each month with a unique feature, column and outdoors calendar. As an added feature to our readers we are expanding our coverage to include all types of events from equestrian to swimming; rock climbing to NASCAR. Tennessee Sports' mission is to bring you captivating and unique stories of the many different ways we play together in the name of SPORTS! This diverse coverage will also give our advertisers a broad base of potential clientele. Interested teens, athletes, die-hard male and female sports fans, parents, grandparents and those who actually participate in the numerous sports we will be featuring. Tennessee Sports will focus on the positive stories of sports that inspire and motivate, the good that comes from competition, the life lessons and life-long memories associated with sports at all ages. It’s why we publish this magazine. Distribution/Readership Currently, TSM prints 20,000 copies with a monthly readership between 70,000 and 100,000 every month. And to make it easy to find a copy every month, TSM has over 200 distribution points throughout Middle Tennessee with more being added every month. In addittion, we are directly distributed to ALL 82 highs schools in the 9-county mid-Tenn region, plus Lipscomb, Trevecca, TSU and Belmont universities.

Editorial Calendar January – Mid-Winter Tournament Action – Nobody does it better than TSM At the mid-way point of the 2010-11 basketball season, this issue will glance back at the first half of the boys and girls basketball season and take a hard look at the grueling months of February and March. We will also preview the myriad of mid-winter tournament action. The January issue will also include a feature on high school hockey with a Predator’s update. February – Post-season play begins and that means March Madness is right around the corner For basketball fans this is the most exciting time of the year when the phrases ‘one and done’ and ‘winner-take-all’ is the battle cry of every fan. The February issue will give a complete look at boys and girls teams expected to be in the hunt for a deep post season run. This issue will also have feature stories from legendary coaches and players who have made the exciting and sometimes heartbreaking trip down the March Madness trail. We’ll take a look at wrestling favorites across the mid-state too. March – A recap of the high school basketball season and time to dust off the golf clubs In the March issue we’ll recap the 2010-11 high school and college basketball and hockey seasons and name our Tennessee Sports Magazine boys and girls ‘Players of the Year.’ TSM will include our signature pictorial spread of the state tournament action for winter sports as well. And with warm weather we will highlight the local golf scene and get you ready to hit the links. We’ll also use the March issue to get you ready for the fast pace of the high school spring sport’s seasons. April – Spring forward with high school and college baseball, softball, tennis, soccer and track High school spring sports will take center stage in Middle Tennessee and Tennessee Sports will be there to keep you in the game. The April issue will also highlight our local college baseball and softball programs and feature our own Nashville Sounds. It’s time for fishing action too. May – Spring Post-Season Preview It’s our first anniversary and the May issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine will recap the season and get our readers ready for post-season action in baseball, softball, tennis, soccer and track. We will also continue our golf coverage of Middle Tennessee’s finest courses. With May being the month when we honor Mothers, we will also look at some of the women behind the scenes of the players and coaches in Middle Tennessee. June – Recap the Spring Sports Season and Father-Son Duos In the June issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine we will name our male and female baseball and softball players of the year and our boys and girls track athletes of the year. In honor of Father’s Day we will also explore some notable Middle Tennessee father and son duos from several sports. July – No Down Time In the July issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine we’ll show you firsthand that there is no such thing as ‘down time’ for Middle Tennessee amateur and professional athletes as we chart the very active summer months of several male and female athletes. We also plan to use the July issue to start easing our readers into the upcoming football season highlighting what goes on in area football camps. Expect our Titan’s updates too. August – Middle Tennessee High School Football
Preview August is special at Tennessee Sports Magazine as we take an inside look at the 2011 high school football season including previews of some of the area’s top football talent. This issue will also contain a preview of boys and girls golf and crosscountry and girls’ volleyball. And more Titan’s updates. September – Mid-Season Football, Cross-Country, Volleyball and Golf Report The September issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine will provide a mid-season report on football, cross-country and golf and highlight outstanding performances by area athletes during the first half of the fall sports season. This issue will also start taking a peek at potential playoff contenders. We’ll also continue our popular look back at area teams and players from the past that have excelled on the gridiron. October – Football Playoff Preview ‘The games you remember are the games in November.’ That phrase will be the battle cry of many area football coaches when the playoff pairings are announced. Tennessee Sports Magazine will provide in-depth coverage with its playoff preview edition. This issue will also feature boys and girls golf coverage about players and teams headed to post season play along with full-coverage of the volleyball post-season picture. The October issue will also include a special feature about the wives behind the scene and detail what it’s like to be the wife of a football coach. November – From the Gridiron to the Hard Court This is a transition month for Tennessee Sports Magazine as we put a wrap on the 2010 high school football season and slowly make the shift to round ball. Along with wrapping up the football season we will also highlight outstanding team and individual performances in golf, volleyball and cross country. The November issue will also include boys and girls basketball and bowling previews and feature stories about new basketball coaches in our area. We’ll include our pictorial spread of the state golf tournament in this one as well. December – Yuletide Cheer and High School Basketball … What a Great Combination When it comes to holiday basketball tournaments Middle Tennessee provides a virtual feast for high school and college basketball junkies and the December issue will be able to quench that appetite with previews of tournaments throughout the region. TSM will bring you Titan’s updates with indepth feature stories. Pictorial feature on the state tournaments for football, volleyball, cross country, and soccer too. What a Christmas present from Tennessee Sports Magazine to you! … and there’s more. Each issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine will also feature a monthly ‘TSM Standouts’ athletes of the month and during the calendar year we will also highlight sports that are oftentimes overlooked by the news media such as bicycling, kayaking, equestrian, and fishing. Look for Outdoor Sports stories from Larry Woody and a ‘Look Between the Lines’ with Rudy Kalis. We will include monthly columns on sports activities at Vanderbilt, Trevecca, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee State, Belmont, Tennessee State and Austin Peay. TSM will have a monthly contribution from a variety of columnists/sports enthusiasts that include Kathy Steakley with “Sports Mom Spotlight” – a look at the sometimes hectic and oftentimes wacky world of raising young children that are involved in multiple sports. Tennessee Sports Magazine will also feature a monthly column by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes entitled “Faith on the Field” and another recurring monthly column, ’Shut up and Serve’ written by former USC and professional volleyballer, Dave DeRocher.
