APPRAISAL A cover redesign for educational materials used for courses and seminars developed by the Appraisal Institute, a global membership association for appraisers. The cover is printed on matte paper, laminated, and houses a die cut area to display the various titles of the courses being offered. These titles and course codes change constantly so the die cut allows the cover design to accommodate the ever evolving content. The client wanted a simple, professional design that would remain relevant and fresh over a number of years.

BROAD Broadshoulders Productions is a Chicago based independent film company that creates and distributes its own short films, documentaries and various other projects. The company needed a website to provide a simple and easily navigable experience to display their info and Vimeo hosted video content. In addition to this, the crew over at Broadshoulders wanted their website to introduce them as the creative group who made these many creations possible. By incorporating images of the crew onto the landing page I felt visitors would immediately get a sense of what type of filmmakers they were reading about. You can take a look at the site yourself at bspfilm.com.

OSCAR Oscar Night America: Twin Cities is an Academy – sanctioned fund raiser that has been held annually in Minneapolis, MN for the past 19 years. The Aegis Foundation served as the official host for this year’s 2012 Oscar party. I was contracted to design a variety of print and digital materials for this event including posters, business cards and digital billboards. It was important to Aegis that the look remained clean and elegant in true Oscar night fashion. ®

The Imagination Museum is a fictional place hosting exhibits that promote creativity, exploration, and nurturing of the free spirit. This design project left me with the task of designing an identity system for this establishment. Unifiying the concept while simultaneously promoting the brand were the core goals.

GREEN The topic of green, renewable energy has been garnering more attention over the years from the general public. What began as a conversation among environmentalists is now very much a part of our society’s reality and this design for a Powerpoint presentation was meant to make audiences aware of this newfound connection. I kept my color scheme relaxed and clean and chose to work with a simple sans serif typeface. The color green was used more sparingly as an accent rather than the primary focus. Varying shades of blues and green were combined to create a sense of a natural yet polished look for the information.

VECTOR Various examples of vector illustrations done in Adobe Illustrator. Each illustration is achieved by hand using a combination of the pen tools, layer effects, and varying opacity values. In some instances, such as with the Britney illustration, a photo is used as a reference point in order to more accurately recreate certain shapes or appearances.

DRAWING Sketches and drawings done by myself in hand. The top two pieces were done in graphite pencil while the smaller drawing positioned at the bottom was done with sumi ink. These are just a few samples of my 2D work.
