In the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, Amy Downs lost 18 of her 33 co-workers and was buried alive. In that moment, she realized she had never truly lived. After surviving, she launched a personal transformation—going from a 355-pound college dropout to earning an MBA, becoming a CEO, and completing an Ironman Triathlon. In her powerful keynote, Amy shares how to turn adversity into action. Her story inspires audiences to pursue growth, embrace change, and believe in their ability to overcome and achieve.
Dave Drummond, a veteran film location scout and manager based in Seattle, has worked with acclaimed directors like David Lynch, Richard Linklater, and Lynn Shelton. His credits include “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Twin Peaks: The Return,” “Captain Fantastic,” and “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?”. Passionate about highlighting the Northwest on screen, he often speaks on Seattle’s film history at events like the Seattle International Film Festival.
Over the course of a 35-year career as an Emergency Department Physician, Dr Christopher Davis has cared for over 100,000 patients. He has taught emergency medicine in the Washington DC area, the Pacific Northwest, and as guest faculty member in Laos, Bhutan, Cambodia, and Uganda. He is a Past President of Ballard Rotary. In retirement, he has written the book he always wanted to write, Compassion Amidst the Chaos.
Jeff Gross, owner of Gro-Nova Inc, is an author of several leadership and employee retention books. With over 20 years of experience in coaching and building high-performance teams, Jeff is passionate about empowering teams through his leadership training. His ex¬ecutive leadership experience spans small to large organizations, including Fortune 500 companies. Jeff has a Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Engineering. He is also a past president of the Des Moines and Normandy Park Rotary club.
Lisa Edwards is a dedicated Rotarian in Seattle and a key leader at Verdant Health, where she champions community wellness initiatives. She also heads up Rotary District 5030’s RISE leadership development program, empowering emerging leaders to drive positive change in their communities. With a passion for service and a commitment to fostering growth, Lisa brings energy, vision, and compassion to every project she undertakes.

Cassie Howder’s life transformed when she joined an Interact club in high school when she went on an international service trip, earned Rotary scholarships, and helped start a Rotaract club. She became the first in her family to graduate from university, thanks to Rota¬ry’s influence. She currently is an RI Club & District Support Officer. She has shared her Rotary story globally, including a keynote at the 2019 RI Convention in Hamburg.
When organizations need to inspire their people and deliver results, they turn to Urs Koenig. A renowned speaker and expert on humble leadership, Urs draws on his experience as a UN peacekeeper, ultra-endurance athlete, and executive coach. His Radical Humility framework blends research and real-world tools to help leaders build strong teams and foster cultures that are both high-performing and humancentered.
Tressa Kenter is a dedicated Rotarian based in Seattle, serving as the chair of the Rotary District 5030 International Grants Committee. Passionate about making a global impact, Tressa leads efforts to facilitate international service projects, connecting local Rotary clubs with communities around the world. Her commitment to collaboration and sustainable change drives her ongoing work to build partnerships that support education, health, and development initiatives worldwide.
Chris Nakea is a Seattle-based technologist and civic leader with over 30 years of experience in software development and digital innovation. He cofounded Our Mayberry, a platform connecting businesses and nonprofits, and serves as Co-President Elect of the Vashon Rotary Club, where he leads public image and fundraising efforts—reflecting his passion for service, storytelling, and community impact.
PDG Bev Reed is a true Servant Leader, retiring in 2018 after a 39-year YMCA career that spanned roles from Program Director to CEO, including leading a $40 million facility project in Spokane and serving as a national trainer in leadership and fundraising. She stepped into the role of Rotary District 5080 Governor and has since held key leadership positions such as PNWPETS Chair, DGE/DGN Education faculty, Big West Institute Chair, and Zone 27 Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator, always dedicated to sharing innovative Rotary practices across clubs, districts, and zones.
Rotary spirit is not taught—it’s sparked by action and fueled by connection.






Ty Reed is a speaker on recovery and employment whose journey—from awardwinning Fortune 50 salesperson to addiction and back to stability—gives him unique insight into how substance use and the workplace intersect. He helps organizations recognize signs of employee substance abuse and implement supportive practices to retain talent. Ty also runs a nonprofit that offers career coaching to individuals recovering from addiction and homelessness, funded through his speaking and consulting work.
Carl Roer is a retired professional based in the Seattle area who shares the powerful Holocaust survival story of his father, Fred. As a longtime member of the Holocaust Center Speakers Bureau, Carl is committed to preserving his father’s legacy and educating others about the Holocaust through personal testimony. His presentations emphasize the importance of remembrance, resilience, and standing up against hatred—values that align closely with Rotary’s mission of promoting peace and understanding across communities.
Retired trial lawyer with 44 years of experience across 25 legal areas and over $1 million in pro bono work. Led nonprofit efforts in Central America and locally with St. Vincent de Paul and Horizon House. A Rotarian for nearly 40 years, past president of two clubs, and leader of 57 water projects benefiting 250,000+ people. Currently chairs the District 5030 Environmental Sustainability Committee. Proud husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong advocate for service, justice, and the environment.purpose.
Shari Storm has been a member of the Rotary Club of Emerald City since 2006. She spent 16 years as a credit union executive and is now CEO of the consulting firm Category 6. Her book, Motherhood is the New MBA, has sold over 20,000 copies, was published by St. Martin’s Press, and translated into Chinese and Portuguese. She speaks nationally on a range of topics, and her TEDx talk is at http://www.sharistorm.com. Shari grew up in Kennewick and now lives in Edmonds, WA with her filmmaker husband, three college(ish) daughters, and their dog, Cedar.
Susanna Southworth is an accomplished attorney based in Seattle with a deep commitment to social justice and community service. As a dedicated member of the Ending Sex Trafficking Rotary Club, she actively works to combat human trafficking and support survivors through advocacy, outreach, and education. Susanna’s legal expertise and passion for making a difference drive her ongoing efforts to create positive change both within her profession and the broader Seattle community.



Libby Wagner, the Poet Pragmatist™, is a former poetry professor turned executive advisor who blends creative insight with strategic leadership to help organizations transform culture and performance. As founder of Libby Wagner & Associates and an instructor in Rotary District 5030’s RISE leadership development program, she equips leaders to align values with action, foster courageous conversations, and drive meaningful, lasting change.
Krystal Zellmer is an international keynote speaker, bestselling author of Life by Intention, and co-owner of Klemmer Leadership Training, where she continues the legacy of her father, Brian Klemmer. Known for her ability to inspire action, she leads transformative, interactive experiences that help individuals and teams break through barriers and lead with purpose. Through global trainings, Krystal empowers people to create lasting, inside-out change—always with the goal of building a world that works for everyone.

Get ready to connect, explore, and win! Each attendee receives a Rotary Bingo card in their registration packet. Your mission? Complete as many squares as you can during the conference!
• Mark off squares as you complete activities like:
• Meet someone from a different Rotary club
• Attend a breakout session
• Take a selfie with a Rotary banner
• Share a post using #Rotary5030Conf
• Completed cards can be submitted at the Registration Desk or designated drop-off point.
Prizes:
