About the residence: As the original owners, this entire Penthouse was designed from grey-shell and with the assistance of internationally known Beverly Hills designer Roy Sklarin brought to life. Every detail was addressed throughout, inclusive of every appliance, sink, toilet and fixture in the unit with designer quality components. The ceilings were removed in their entirety to enable higher ceilings with custom lighting treatments throughout. The walls were moved to create a truly custom residence. Upstairs an incredible environment was established including a fantastic working office behind glass doors, a custom casino with genuine slot machines, a money wheel and custom gaming tables for blackjack, roulette and craps, five large screen televisions all powered by Crestron and a great wet bar. The lighting and window coverings are electronically controlled through Lutron and Crestron systems. All the carpets were hand woven in silk and wool in Thailand by Decorative Carpets. The extensive and elaborate window treatments were created by Valley Drapery. The elegant chandeliers, custom staircase and front door were hand-crafted by Murray’s Iron Works. The marble and honed limestone floors throughout the unit were from Walker-Zanger. The kitchen and bath furnishings used all metal framing, wood moldings and cabinetry hand made in Vancouver, Canada. The highest quality plumbing fixtures were from Designer’s Bed and Bath in Los Angeles.

All furniture in the residence was custom designed by Phyllis Morris and J Robert Scott. Each piece is one of a kind, hand carved and custom created: PHYLLIS MORRIS. The name is synonymous with originality, enduring style and quality, which is still the hallmark of this second-generation company. Morris was designing more original lamps, elaborate end tables, gothic throne chairs, unique cabinets and mirrored bars...and eventually her signature canopy beds, which attracted a unique clientele base of celebrities, hotel designers and collectors the world over. Never timid, Phyllis wrote her own rules and refused to follow trends. In the mid-century when the furniture industry was creating slick, streamline furnishings, Phyllis favored bold Italian carvings with rich layered patinas. Unexpected and original designs evolved through the decades and a furniture empire was being built and Phyllis became known as one of the foremost style innovators in the home furnishings industry. J ROBERT SCOTT, INC. The luxury home furnishings manufacturer was founded in 1972 in Los Angeles by Hall of Fame designer Sally Sirkin Lewis. The company was born out of Ms. Lewis’ desire to provide her clients with contemporary, well made furnishings that met her uncompromising standards of quality and beauty. J. Robert Scott is well known in the interior design industry for utilizing rare and exotic veneers. Throughout her career, Ms. Lewis has been awarded more than 150 U.S. Design Patents for her furnishings which are manufactured by hand in the 76,000+ square foot factory in Inglewood, California.
