Growing barley wasn't success in Jordanian rangelands receiving rainfall less than 200 mm. A field experiment
was conducted at Al-Majjediah village to determine barley yield using water harvesting techniques. The study was planted
using Randomized Complete Block Design including planting methods. The data were collected and analyzed for 2 years.
The results of current experiment indicated that tillers number were 3.3, 2.4 and 1.2 tiller/plant for strip, contour ridges and
traditional method, respectively. The biological yield was 548.07 and 312.88 kg/ha for 2011/2012 and 2012/2013,
respectively. Also, the biological yield was 517.47, 422.23 and 351.73 kg/ha for contour ridges, traditional, and strip
method, respectively. Straw yield was 397.36 and 280.17 kg/ha for 2011/2012 and 2012/2013, respectively.
In addition, straw yield was 447.70, 315.36 and 253.23 kg/ha for contour ridges, traditional and strip methods,
respectively.
