Although they are prepared in many ways, in order to suit everyone's taste buds, they share the opinion that oysters are tastiest when they are prepared in the most simple way - freshly picked from the sea, raw, drizzled with a few drops of lemon juice, and served on ice. It's no secret that oysters are tastiest in mid-March, around the time of St. Joseph's feast day, when a festival is held in its honor The Oyster Festival. It's also a great chance to try them in the most creative combinations, and round off the gourmet experience with a glass of sparkling red or white wine from Pelješac, which pairs best with oysters.

Mussels, also grown in the Mali Ston Bay, are also a true delicacy, even if they are somewhat in the shadow of the sea's queen of the table in Ston. While in Ston, you can also try excellent fish stew, fish, and seafood, all complemented by the famous grains of Ston salt. Ston's sweet side is just as attractive. Your taste buds are sure to enjoy Ston cake, which is made of makaruli (macaroni), and you can also sweeten your time in Ston with caramelized almonds and arancini and limuncini (sugared orange and lemon peel), old-fashioned delicacies from the Dubrovnik area. Make sure to try the famous rose liqueur (ruzolin), and liqueur made of carob or bitter orange.
