Overwatch is new to the industry but it already received a warm welcome from gamers across the globe. Blizzard Entertainment, the creator of the game, wouldn’t let the hype died down so they immediately introduced Overwatch League (OWL) months later. And its goal is to promote a new type of esports tournament focused on a pro sports structure.

Blizzard co-founder and president, Michael Morhaime, stated that: “We want to create new ways for players to engage with the franchise through the Overwatch League,eSports is growing, but the ecosystem isn’t always easy to navigate for players, viewers, or teams. Our focus is on creating stability and participation for teams and owners, and accessibility of the content for fans.”

With Mr. Morhaime words, Overwatch clearly wants to take over the esports industry, including Overwatch betting and esports live-streaming. If you’re one of the bettors and you wish to take part in this revolutionary game by winning Bitcoins, you need to understand the structure of OWL. The Overwatch League is structure is the same as the traditional North American professional sports and esports leagues. All professional teams from two divisions will play against each other in the matches, leading to the playoffs and grand finals. All matches coming from Atlantic and Pacific Divisions will take place every Wednesday to Saturday and will be broadcasted only on Twitch and the official Overwatch League website (MLG.tv). OWL is divided into four stages, the team’s losses and wins will be counted and recorded and seeded in the full-season and post-season records.

The Overwatch League’s inaugural pre-season was officially launched on December 6, 2017 and it ran until December 9. The Pre-season required all participating teams to go head to head against each other in continuous live-streamed exhibition matches at Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles. Seoul Dynasty, Los Angeles Valiant and Dallas Fuel are the current favorites and top players of the pre-season.

The official season began on January 10 and will end on July 2018. The twelve participating teams will compete in the regular season, the winners will then move up to the playoffs and championship finals. Like the pre-season, the regular will also be played at the Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles.

You still have enough time to get ready for Overwatch betting since the OWL’s post-season will take place on June 17 to July 28, 2018. The players competing will come from the top-ranked teams in every division from the championship playoffs which will run from July 11 to 22. The grand finals, on one hand, is scheduled for July 26 to 28. The team who will win the grand final round of the regular season will get the title of Overwatch League champions and will receive the prize pool of US $1 million.

All-Star Weekend will take place on August 10 to 12, 2018. The event will be broadcasted via live-stream, featuring the most popular players sharing experiences and insights about the tournaments; this could be behind the scenes or actual interviews.
