Auctioneer’s Foreword On many occasions I have been asked to put on an evening event here at the Cob Sales. Last year’s Thorneyside Sale seemed to go so well that I thought that a Gala Evening, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary, would be acceptable. It may even be something we can bear in mind for future years. We have been supported by leading vendors and consignors for this Gala Sale. I hope that you will agree that, when you see the lots that are to be offered, they represent the finest of the breed. Nowhere in the World will you find a better selection offered at one event. Most of you will remember that before the start of last year’s Thorneyside Sale we brought in the Pearly Kings and Queens to entertain the audience. So, this year, we are going to entertain you for 40 minutes before the Evening Gala Sale with Tom Jones - John and his dancers. They will also entertain you for half an hour following the Sale. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all those consigning their ponies and cobs for their support in helping us to put on this Gala Sale. I only hope that we will be favoured with a large and appreciative audience who will take the opportunity to buy lots of the highest standard. The Sale will commence at approx 7pm, which hopefully will be about an hour after the conclusion of the Saturday Sale, with Tom Jones - John starting his performance at approx 6:15pm. As you all know I have a fantastic love for the Welsh Pony & Cob and I cannot tell you how excited I am about this event as time, I guess, is running out for me. If this is successful it will be another chapter in the book!
