TINE BREDAHL TERKELSEN MASTER STUDENT OF SCIENCE IN ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE - SUSTAINABILITY 2018-2020

4

HEY! I’m a 24-year-old architect student with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and architecture at Aalborg University. Currently I’m studying my master in sustainable architecture, my goal is to design sustainable architecture and urban spaces to people and to inspire others to live sustainable. Based on my education I have a wide knowledge regarding integrated design, how to combine the aesthetics with the technical aspect in order to design holistic architecture. Furthermore, how to comply the technical aspect early in the design process, which can be used as a design factor in the further design process. Through my education I’m used to work in teams, were my role often is the overall overview and how to develop the early ideas into the final design proposal. My competences are mainly in the graphic appearance, using my creative mind through drawings and digital programs to present design proposal. I’m very ambitious, hardworking and good at group work. Furthermore, I’m ready to explore the knowledge I have developed through my education in the real world.

LITTLE VENICE SEMESTER PROJECT TYPE LOCATION SQUARE METRE STORIES

01 MASTER - 2019 GROUP AALBORG VESTBY 4000 BETWEEN 2 AND 6

LITTLE VENICE has been focused on designing sustainable housing for inhabitants in an urban context. A strong emphasis has been put on social and environmental sustainability while increasing the interaction between people and the maritime environment. The project is based upon a fragmentated layout of volumes surrounded by a central urban courtyard, the shape of the volumes interprets the sails founded by the two harbours. The maritime atmosphere is underlined by the users of the area along with the transformation of the harbourfront into a pier with possibilities of interaction with the water. In LITTLE VENICE the courtyard is the water which will create an everchanging urban space.

On the second island the user has the opportunity to taste, feel and smell homegrown food in an urban context. Furthermore the user can interfere with the senses and the nature.

The Kinesthetic island is a playground where movement is being emphasized. Children can gather here to interfere with each other and the water.
