RAIDER CABIN The Raider Cabin is a mentor-mentee facility that connects combat veterans with nature, and each other, by providing spaces to be alone and together. The cabin starts at grade on the north end of the site and quickly rises above the trees to the south. Each wing flares, framing views across the valley below. Dividing the cabin on the north end allowed private spaces to be separate from one another, and created communal space outside of the cabin opening to the west. The walls take on the challenge of the gabion system, and attempt to mask the roof gutter, as found in contemporary Scandinavian cabins.
