TAKING ADVANTAGE of a problem to improve design and create a sales opportunity. Currently all three papers suffer visually from oversized margins that produce a clumsy look to the design. The margins are filled with large, heavy type, but this does little to enhance the overall look and feel of the pages.

“The Post” for Newcastle and Hunter suffers from an over-wide centre margin that creates a visual white-gap. Soon “The Western Weekender” will be increasing its side margins once the new plastic bagging is introduced. While the margins are too narrow for normal Editorial use, they are large enough for BOTH Editorial announcements and a new type of value adding Advertisement.
