LOCUST GROVE Noah’s Ark Animal Rehab Center Walk the nature trails, visit the animal habitats and experience the power and effectiveness of love at Noah’s Ark, a rehabilitation center for animals and a group home for children. This 250-acre facility is home to lions, tigers and bears, as well as horses, llamas, peacocks and – all total – over 1,000 exotic or domestic animals including 100 different species. The most popular animals at Noah’s Ark are Baloo the American black bear, Leo the African lion and Shere Khan the tiger. They have lived together as a family at Noah’s Ark since 2001. Come and picnic while viewing the animals. Noah’s Ark is located at 712 L.G. Griffin Road in Locust Grove, Ga. The animal habitats are open from Noon to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Georgia Sports Hall of Fame The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Macon, Ga., is the country’s largest state sports museum. The 43,000 square feet state-ofthe-art museum houses over 3,000 artifacts. From the old style ticket booths to the brick columns in the rotunda and special lighting, the museum invites visitors to experience the history of sports in Georgia with more than 14,000 square feet of high-energy exhibit space and a Hall of Fame corridor that honors over 300 inductees, including Ty Cobb, Jackie Robinson, Bobby Jones, Evander Holyfield and Nancy Lopez.
