Owned by the Mabel Hospitality Group, ZELA counts footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis player Rafael Nadal and singer Enrique Iglesias among it’s ‘VIP partners’ and is set to open at the ME Hotel on the Strand, Covent Garden, by early October. chef Ricardo Sanz, who has created the ‘Meppon cuisine’; Japanese techniques and flavours applied to Mediterranean products and traditions – these influences can be found in dishes such as 48-hour braised Wagyu teriyaki and usuzukuri pa amb tomaquet (thinly sliced tuna belly sashimi with grated tomato, olive oil and bread.) ZELA also features an abundance of fresh fish and seafood directly from the Mediterranean with their own style of tartars, sashimi, sushi and more. The drinks will also be one to watch out for – ZELA has created a menu of cocktails which harmoniously balances Asian ingredients with the zest of the Mediterranean.
