BASIC CUBEs

In this Chapter, I have demonstrated the effects of warm and cool light on this basic shape. I applied a color for each plane of the stacked cubes to depict the accurate colors in either warm or cool light. The idea was to put any reference aside and try to predict how the colors would behave.

textured cubes

I’ve used the same principles of light and color from Chapter One, but have coupled it with found and transformed textures. These techniques create an illusion of perspective.

Most of the time, Photoshop’s default patterns may not satisfy the designers or clients needs. Here I’ve defined custom, seamless and original patterns.

ELEVATION

This elevation includes a multipurpose space, with both retail and residential needs to be addressed. Using Photoshop selection tools, I was able to organize and apply textures and materials to this large format building elevation.

the empty room

It’s hard to imagine the potential of any empty space. Fortunately, with advanced techniques in Photoshop I was able to create what appears to be an existing living room. The inspiration comes from my own personal style; Found art, pops of color, and with an eclectic hint to the past.

kai’s apartment

In this Chapter, I chose to render a one-bedroom dorm, so space was certainly taken into consideration. My inspiration is a friend, Kai, who enjoys the bachelor life. His design esthetic includes Minimilism and functionality.
