From The Editor
Hello Elk Grove Monsters, I hope you all had a Spooky October and are now ready to Stuff yourself with Turkey and community service this month. Thank you to all of those who came to our Moo Moo's Fundraiser and supported our club and PTP. You guys rock! With that said, I am excited to announce that we are hosting our very own annual event at EG Park on November 12th called Amazing Race. There will be games, food, and amazing races so please stop by; it will truly be a lot of fun. I am excited to continue Planting the Seeds of Service alongside all you BEE-utiful members and interact with all of you. I still need to fill up empty space: What country makes you shiver? Chile. I hope you all go to more events than the number of exclamation points in Emily's message. Just kidding. Everything she says deserves an exclamation point. Love you Emily! Have a good November! I am so thankful for all of your service and hope you continue serving during these festive months. In Monstrous amounts of Service and Friendship, Tiffany Jose
Message from the President Happy November! Greetings! My name is Emily Chen and I am proud to be serving you as your 2016-2017 administrative club President. A little something about me is that I absolutely LOVE serving my community and meeting people! In my free time, you can always find me drawing or chilling while binge watching Netflix! And another fun fact? Key Club is my Ohana and I cannot wait to see what we will accomplish by the end of this term! Serving as your club President, I am BEE-yond elated to see what the rest of the term brings us. Remember! Our goal is to fundraise at least $800+ towards our preferred charities and serve 2,800+ community service hours! Keep serving and I know we will get there! For the month of November, it will be filled with exciting events, including our first ever annual event, Amazing Race! It will take place on Saturday, November 12th at Elk Grove Regional Park in a race around the park! All proceeds will go to the PTP and Elk Grove Key Club for future projects! So why not join the fun and see what Key Club is all about?! Looking forward to seeing all your BEE-utiful faces! Thank you so much for tuning in our 2nd issue of the Orange Chronicle! Stay tuned for more next month for our Bulletin Editor, Tiffany Jose's, BEE-utiful club newsletter.
Yours in SERVICE and FRIENDSHIP, Emily Chen
Introducing Our New Appointed Board Hi, my name is Kenny Zhen and I am a Junior at Elk Grove High school. I enjoy eating sushi, drinking boba, and serving the Division I love :) . Oh, and did I mention community service, yea that too. Also, I serve as EG Key Club's Member Recognition Coordinator. As MR, I nominate a member every month on the division level and also on a club level. I choose be MR Coordinator because I want some members to be noticed for what they do. Some Key Clubbers do things in the shadows and may not think they'll get noticed, this is why we have MR Coordinators. And recognizing members is actually pretty fun, because you get to see little things so members do and you learn more about them! Hi Key Clubbers, my name is Tyra Jose! Along with many new members, I just joined Key Club this year and am still a freshman. From the get go I have enjoyed taking my part in this club and can see myself continuing to put forth as much effort as I can into being the best member I can be. I am happy to serve as your Photo Historian. Taking pictures of all our fun events and complying a scrapbook at the end of the year are some of my duties. It is so nice to meet all of you and I hope that my work will provide some great memories fro all of you! :)
Urban Cow Half Marathon
At Urban Cow, volunteers helped pass out water bottles to the runners, served food, and Moo-ved boxes around. It was an utter-ly fun time.
Night Nation Run At Night Nation Run, volunteers helped direct traffic, passed out flyers, and cheered for the runners. Look at that spirit!
EGHS Fluffs In the past few weeks, key clubbers have been showing their class spirit by helping fluff floats for the homecoming parade. All the floats looked really good. Way to go Herd!
Past Events:October Walk to End Alzheimers At this event, members passed water bottles to the runners/walkers and helped set up and tear down the event. Jarred's pro tip: wear cargo pants that have lots of pockets to hold more water bottles
D7S Spirit Festival+DCM At the DCM, monsters from all over Division 7 South gathered to be updated on division wide events. Afterwards, the spirit committee taught the monsters how to do the cheers for Fall Rally.
Fall Rally North At Fall Rally, divisions from all over Northern California gathered together to attend the rally and spend a day at Six Flags. Our very own Division 7 South placed top 3 for getting the spirit stick. Oh so close!
And Many More!
