From The Editor
Hello Elk Grove Monsters, I hope you all had a Thankful Thanksgiving and are now ready to serve up this festive month of December. This month try to give back to the community and show your holiday spirit by volunteering. Thank you to everyone who attended our annual event, Amazing Race. Whether as a volunteer or as a participant, without you this event may not have been as successful so thank you. You guys rock! Additional thanks to those who helped raise funds for UNICEF. We were able to raise about $200 with your help and support. Although you may be ready to sleigh away for winter break, please try to leave some extra time devoted to Key Club. This month, we are participating in Adopt-A-Family. During club meetings, we will be passing around a donation jar so you can donate money to the adopted family. You can also bring your own presents to gift the family. If you are interested in running for a position next year, the division is hosting a Leadership Training Conference at Sheldon High School. It is highly recommended that you attend LTC if you want to have a position next year. By attending you will be preparing yourself for when you run. Don't be a Grinch and try to enjoy these last few days of the In Monstrous amounts year. Try to chill out when of Service and Friendship, you're stressed and remember Tiffany Jose to have fun along the way.
Past Events:November Recycling Sorting Party At the Recycling Sorting Party, many Key Clubbers sorted through hundreds of bottles and cans. Although it wasn't the most fragrant service event, many of the members found the event rewarding as they kept the Earth clean through their super organizing skills.
Holt @ Winter Jam At the Holt @ Winter Jam event, many Elk Grove Key Clubbers spent their weekend by passing out meaningful pamphlets to raise awareness for the children of the world to the concert attendees.
Elk Grove Turkey Trot At the Elk Grove Turkey Trot, volunteers did a wide range of jobs including directing traffic to filling up drinks for the runners.
Past Events:November Amazing Race At the Amazing Race event, volunteers worked tirelessly to set up our annual event. Participants ran around the park and played numerous games and challenges to race for first place. It was an amazing way to spend the sunny afternoon.
DWSP & November DCM At the Division Wide Service Project, Key Clubbers from all over D7S came together to make friendship bracelets, Christmas cards, stockings, and PTP dolls. Although it was a bit chilly and rainy, the event was still fun to see everyone together. And with our LTG's motivational words,"If the soccer players stay, we stay" the service project was even more enjoyable. At the DCM the club's Presidents and division leaders gave useful information about future events as well as a recap on past events.
And Many More!
