Legend has it that Trader Vic created the original Mai Tai in 1944. After a friend tasted the creation she exclaimed, “Mai Tai ~ Roa Ae,” meaning “Out of this world ~ the best!” ma. The restaurant is not fancy, but the staff was efficient and Hotel Caesar is worth a repeat visit. A colleague and I needed to travel to American Samoa to visit a client. This requires flying to Honolulu to catch the twice weekly 4-1/2-hour flight to Pago Pago, the capital.
