B. GLOBAL CITIZEN SUMMER CAMP PROJECT OVERVIEW

Global Citizen Summer Camp is one of the biggest projects held annually by AIESEC in FTU Hanoi. This is a 7-day camp with the presence of more than 150 Vietnamese students aged from 14-18 and international students around the world. The project is envisioned to develop and empower students to become Global Citizens – the next generation of leaders of the country who are not only responsible for their lives but also for the development of the society. Since the project was initiated in 2011, lots of growth and positive changes from generations of campers and international students have been witnessed, and this year, we are honored to spread that impact to a wider audience with the 7th Global Citizen Summer Camp of AIESEC in FTU Hanoi.

MISSIONS With the vision to develop the young generation of Vietnam to become Global Citizen, our project aims to: 1. Create a culturally diversified environment, offer chances to make friends and build international friendships. 2. Provide a chance for students to develop comprehensively (physicality, intellectuality, creativity, emotion). 3. Enhance their self-awareness, motivate students to be confident with their true ability. 4. Give knowledge about social & global issues and give students opportunities to take actions to bring societal positive changes.

Culture Understanding

 Self-awareness Through lots of new things and challenges experienced when working in a new environment, interns are likely to develop their “sense of self” – to understand better about their personal strengths, weaknesses, interests, personal values, believes, etc  Social Impact Interns are granted the chance to develop the young generation of Vietnam through many socially based activities, hence, they will be more aware of their ability to create a social impact.  Action-oriented A fascinating but challenging working environment our project presents comes with a wide range of difficulties that must be faced during the internship, so interns are required to be action-oriented and dare to try new things and approach.  Cultural understanding Interns who join the program have the chance to research and learn about world issues, culture, history, architecture cuisine, language, economy and the people in the host country. They will also gain global mindset when working in a team with many nationalities.

2.

Halong Bay

Towering limestone pillars and tiny islets topped by forest rise from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Halong translates as 'where the dragon descends into the sea' and legend tells that this mystical seascape was created when a great mountain dragon charged towards the coast, its flailing tail gouging out valleys and crevasses.

3. Sapa Established as a hill station by the French in 1922, Sapa today is the tourism centre of the northwest. Sapa is orientated to make the most of the spectacular views emerging on clear days; overlooking a plunging valley, with mountains towering above on all sides. Views of this epic scenery are often subdued by thick mist rolling across the peaks, but even when it's cloudy, local hill-tribe people fill the town with colour.

4. Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Listed among top 25 Asia Attractive by TripAdvisor, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is both a research centre and a public museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam, worthy your visiting to understand about longlasting tradition and culture of Vietnam.

SPECIAL HOLDAY - TET Consider yourself lucky because this is the grandest event of the year. Tet is the Lunar New Year for Vietnam and falls on the same day as the Chinese New Year. Do not let the closed-down business warning fool you. Take a step closer to the life here and truly understand a completely exotic culture. NIGHTLIFE

This junction in the centre of the Old Quarter is the absolute classic night time activity in Hanoi. You really haven’t seen the city until you have spent a few hours soaking up the atmosphere and maybe sinking a few beers at the most famous Beer Hoi (Fresh Beer) spot in Vietnam

The city’s lively bars and glitzy nightclubs are conveniently set around Hoan Kiem Lake in the Old Quarter, where you can enjoy great tunes and
