THE UNEXPECTED DISCOVERY By Cameron Colucci
During the year of 2013 there was a boy named Jake. Jake was 12 years old and was 5 feet tall.He lived in the rocky, dusty, green lands of Iraq. After school, Jake often helped his parents with doing chores around the house. Jake was very strong and was very smart. When he goes to school everyone slowly backs away from him as he walks down the hallway. Kids don’t want to mess with him with him.
One day after school, Jake had no homework. He decided to take a walk. Jake found many different kinds of rocks. Jake decided to collect these rocks. He then looked at them under his microscope at his house. Jake’s microscope was given to him by his grandfather on his birthday. Sadly, Jake’s grandfather passed away a year ago. His grandfather was an architect, and his last words were “down creek up it, stood old trrressuuuuuu unaaaaaaallll.’’ Then, he slowly, but calmly died.
Jake and his parents still don’t know what it meant. Jake uses his head as if he was trying to complete the world’s hardest crossword puzzle, without getting any words wrong! Jake thought about it some more. He went outside to find out what the words of his grandfather meant. “down creek up?” One splitsecond later, Jake found out what his grandfather meant. Go down into the creek, look up and there was a treasure!
Then Jake, races down as fast as he can to the creek! Jake goes right near the water of the and instantly, stops. Jake was a little in the clouds when it came to the future. Now on with the search.Jakes piercing eyes were looking up and down, here, to there. Then right after Jake said “Ugggggg it is impossible,” he found a miracle.
In the exact spot where his grandfather said “ stood old trressuuuuuu unaaaaaaallll.” There was the biggest tunnel Jake had ever seen! Everything that came out of his mouth was “ugggggggg ahhhhhhh nhhhhhaaaaa.” The tunnel was about 25 feet tall and 20 feet long. It had little ancient writing on it from old Mesopotomia. He thought in his head, furosiously. Jake said to himself, “what was it called!’’ There was a moment of silence. Later on Jake said, Cunieform!
After Jake said Cunieform, he calmly walked farther and farther into the ancient tunnel. There were many wild animals. For example, there were bats, bugs, and jerboas. The animals did not bother brave Jake, as he started to calmly and carefully pick up an old pot, in the entrance of the tunnel. Suddenly, Jake trips over a rock. He saved the artifact before it hit the ground! Jake quickly got back on his feet. As Jake saw part of the broken piece of the pottery on the ground, he thought to himself, it would be nice to give a piece of the pottery to his parents.
When Jake walked out of the tunnel he took his phone from his pocket, not knowing where it had been. Jake quickly used his phone to call 911. As soon as the police arrived, they toll Jake in amazement “ boy you just found the ancient Royal Tombs of Ur” said the police office. Jake said thankyou then goes home. His parents are rewarded with a lot of money for the discovery. Jake keeps his broken piece of pottery until he dies. It gets passed from one from generation to another. Jake was on the Iraq news. He will be known as a hero all around the world.
Jake’s discovery was incredible and shocking how a young boy finds an entrance to Royal Tombs of Ur. Many times people try to find another entrance and failed. If Jake hadn’t been brave and smart, he wouldn’t of not have been found. The hard work and patience Jake puts in to finding the entrance, helped him succeed his discovery. Jake will be remembered as a bright, strong, and fearless kid as the human race goes on.
