Its nine acres and outlying fields provide a variety of habitats for a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. Come and meet our friendly Alpacas!

HOW TO FIND US From the North: exit the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A65 for approximately 6 miles. The entrance to Woodclose can be found off the A65, 200 yards from Devils Bridge. From the South: exit the M6 at Junction 34 and follow the A683 for approximately 14 miles. Turn left onto the A65 and the entrance to Woodclose is immediately on your right hand side. Woodclose is no more than a 15 minute walk from the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.

Things to do...

Our Facilities

There is plenty to see and do, all within easy travelling distance from the Park. Explore Ingleton Falls, Wensleydale, White Scar Caves, or the village of Hawes just some of the many places to visit. Call at reception for a full range of brochures, timetables and local information.

Near main reception there is a fully equipped laundry room with a separate indoor washing-up area and excellent toilet/ family shower rooms with baby changing facilities. Hair dryers are available for a small charge. Most of our facilities are accessible, visit our website for our access policy. In main reception is our shop, nature corner and local information point. Calor gas, fresh milk, locally sourced provisions and those vital essentials can be found here and you can even order a daily paper ! Wi-fi is available to purchase and there is a public payphone located just outside main reception.

The River Lune & Devil’s Bridge A short stroll from the Park you will find yourself beside the beautiful River Lune and the three ribbed medieval arches of Devil’s Bridge. The origin of the Bridge is obscure, but it has given rise to a legend that it was built by the devil in a pact with an elderly lady. Make the most of the areas many different walking and cycle routes, take a picnic or try your hand at fishing. You must obtain fishing permits in advance.

Kirkby Lonsdale No more than 15 minutes walk from the Park is the centre of town with a good selection of award winning specialist shops, tearooms, restaurants and inns. Horse riding and Golf are also found nearby – please ask in reception for local information.

Fancy exploring the Lake District National Park then why not travel North to the beautiful valley of Ullswater and home to one of our sister attractions Ullswater “Steamers”, lake cruises that connect to some of the most famous and spectacular walking routes within the National Park or take the Western route towards the only coastal village in Lakeland, Ravenglass, and journey up the Eskdale Valley onboard our other sister attraction, Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway affectionately known locally as L’aal Ratty. Holiday Homes There are a selection of lodges and static holiday homes for sale. We pride ourselves on the strong sense of community here onsite and support this ethos by not allowing sub-letting. Holiday home owners are privileged to an extended season until New Year.

The Touring & Tent Area The main touring area is ideally spaced for touring vans and motor homes with or without awnings, conveniently located near the amenities. All pitches are supplied with electric and television hook-up points. The seasonal tent field is sheltered and secluded with pitches for a small number of tents. Main touring season is March – end of October but please visit our website for tariff information and our latest news updates.

Wigwams Our wigwams are sturdy, wooden camping cabins that sleep up to five people comfortably equipped with beds (bring your own sleeping bag). Each wigwam has lighting, heating and some electrical equipment i.e fridge and kettle. Outside, there is an area for cooking and a picnic bench. There is also an outdoor communal cooking shelter. Crock boxes and fire baskets are available to hire on request.
