ATLANTA ECOLOGY

URBAN ECOLOGY IDEOLOGY:

The City of Atlanta is a predominantly car controlled city, with more focus on driving and not on alternative modes of transportation. Citizens of Atlanta have very few choices in alternative modes of transportation and without an organized system for travel Atlanta is heavily depended on oil and the car. Furthermore, the city lacks an easy means of obtaining food without the use of the car. Urban farming not only would decreases the amount of transportations of food but also the need for Atlanta residents to drive to get food.

Ecology as define by three different sources, such as Ecological Urbanisum, the Three Ecology, and Abunance.

The highly publicized Belt-Line will provide a critical link in Atlanta’s move towards alternative modes of transportation and could drastically improve the quality of life for the citizens of Atlanta. The kink in the link is the BeltLine lacks plans for a hub, that supports biking, and urban farming. Like a ecological system, if one aspect is imbalanced or negligent the system does not function properly, resulting in the extinction.
