Safia Minney and her team are spearheading the project Slave to Fashion which gives an in-depth view of human trafficking in our clothing supply chain. When you think ‘pioneer,' think People Tree. 25 years ago, as the fashion industry began to boom and people were making profits off the backs of others, Safia Minney, founder of People Tree, decided to do things differently. Before this even became a ‘thing’ People Tree was working with Fairtrade co-ops and farmers in developing countries to ensure that people and the planet were sustained. They continue that tradition. Sweatshop A shop or factory in which employees work long hours at low wages and under unhealthy conditions. The clothing industry is notorious for these. Watch a short documentary of young Norwegian bloggers who went to spend a few days with the people who make our clothes. This documentary was recorded about two years ago. Much is still the same. However, with easy options like Thread Life, we can change this injustice.

#smartisbeautiful

“What is considered beautiful changes from year to year and from culture to culture, but what is beautiful across the world is a smart mind and a kind heart." As women, we need to take back the power and break the cycle of beauty oppression by creating a mindset of real beauty. The #smartisbeautiful project by 4All Humanity is about awareness and education. Its focuses on empowering women to be their own beautiful. It promotes education which empowers women and girls in Guatemala to rise above poverty. 1.
