chorus of the redeemed as we sing a new song and shout hallelujahs with the angels of heaven and the saints of the ages. As Whaley reminds us, “We’re not home yet. The best is yet to come.” I often define worship as the “response of all I am to the revelation of all He is.” The book will motivate you to respond in ways you never have before. The revelation of God and His plan for worship is presented with unprecedented insight and application. As you experience the width, length, depth, and height of worship you will embrace the one who is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” and you will cry out “to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” And you will long for all of this to start anew, in your own heart. Today, I know Vernon M. Whaley as a colleague and friend. I concur with my son Jordan’s assessment and I count it a privilege to commend this book to you. It thrills me to know that a new generation of worship leaders is learning from Dr. Whaley’s experience, depth of insight and personal passion. It excites me even more to know that his expertise and teaching can now be reproduced in individuals and churches around the world through this extraordinary resource.
