SITUATION EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT STATUS

INCREASED READINESS

EVENT SUMMARY: A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 am 3/7/13. Snow will continue throughout the day. Snow could be heavy at times. North winds 22 to 26 mph with gusts to 37 mph. Heavy, wet snow and strong winds may lead to power outages and difficult driving conditions. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel keep a flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of emergency.

SITUATION

A forward EOC has been activated as of Wednesday 3/6/13 at 0700 in Communications.

WEATHER FORECAST (Warrenton) Today

Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy fog after noon. Patchy freezing fog before noon. High near 33. Windy, with a north wind 22 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

Wednesday night

Snow, mainly before 11pm. Low around 32. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Thursday

Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind 15 to 17 mph.
