Fargo International Hotel

Unit

Fargo, ND Hotels are primarily based on a configuration of “units,” rooms and spaces, and are standard and multipliable. This principle is used not in the creation of a room unit, but as a building module. This “unit” allows organic formation of scale, rooms, and spaces.

The modular system uses a pinion and clip assembly to connect into a unit. This unit is then multiplied and rotated to create strands, and multiplied once again into sheets. Upon completion of the sheets, they are rolled to create a cylindrical structure. This assembly and process allows an organic creation of space and an ever changing exterior that reacts to interior and exterior forces

Center for Alternative Psychological Studies Chicago, IL The Center for Alternative Psychological Studies (C.A.P.S.) provides a new state of the art mental health research/education/care facility campus in the heart of Chicago. It’s focus is to help those returning from war, those with mental illness, and those in the city environment itself. Goose Island in Chicago is selected as the site, utilizing it’s location in the region and the city to serve many different types of people. The campus aims to revitalize a piece of Chicago’s Industrial zone, keeping its history and giving a natural zone back to the city.

LINCOLN RESIDENCE Hutker Architects - Falmouth MA

Allowing the history of the site to speak, this home acknowledges its roots while looking toward the future to create a modern infused farmstead.

33

Multiple layouts, entry sequences, and client requests created three schemes to be studied. Further development reults in a hybrid scheme.

35

Special attention was given to an all day, naturally lit home that would bring in the views of the naturally roaming site.
