MCEEC Hosts 36 Annual Public Maple Sugaring Day Monroe County Conservation Districtâ€™s Environmental Education Center (MCEEC) will host the 36th Annual Public Maple Sugaring Day on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Meesing Sugarbush near Marshalls Creek. See how sweet syrup is made during this exciting annual event! The day includes a 90-minute tour of the Sugarbush with stops for demonstrations and fun activities. Learn about Native American and early pioneer methods of making maple syrup, find out how to identify and tap maple trees, and watch as MCEEC educators explain the evaporator process! After the tour, enjoy a sample of the pure maple syrup on some freshly-made pancakes! Admission costs $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Maple tree sponsors and EE Center members attend free of charge. The Meesing Sugarbush is located in the Delaware State Forest north of Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania.
