We believe that life is for living
Our Mission We believe that life is for living. We always go the extra mile to help people with disabilities or longterm health conditions lead great, authentic lives, where they are in control. Our Vision Thistle Foundation is a boundary-pushing, pioneering organisation helping bring about a society where everyone has the right to feel involved and empowered to live the life they choose, regardless of their disabilities or health condition.
Supported Living “My support team does things with, not for, me
Our Supported Living focuses on choice and control. We recognise that you are the authority on your own life, and we tailor our support packages to you. If you live in your own home, or with family, we can offer a variety of levels of support, from 30 minutes per week to 24 hours a day. From assistance with running errands to more intensive help in and around your home, we are here to offer what you want.
We offer great value for money, putting your needs first. We work with you to develop a plan of support. This helps us ensure that your choices and aspirations are being met; enabling you to lead the life you want. All our staff are given comprehensive first year training that enables them to support you and others confidently and effectively. Their training and development is ongoing; this ensures a high quality responsive service that meets your needs.

Why We Are Unique
HEC in Person Centred Approaches Thistle has designed this award-winning course that we deliver in partnership with Queen Margaret University.
The course is designed with adult learners in mind, and our team is fully committed to offering the support each participant may need to achieve their qualification.
We tailor our help and support to each individual
Person centred work recognises that each person is the primary authority on his or her own life. This type of support is tailored to the individual, and is about enabling someone to lead the life they want.
Leading Others course Our Leading Others course aims to develop confident, skilled and principled managers. It provides the next natural step for those within organisations who are being promoted or wish to be considered for promotion.
The course is aimed at anybody planning to offer truly personalised support to people at risk of exclusion. These may include older people, people living with mental health problems or learning disabilities, people who are homeless, people who have been released from prison and people living in areas of deprivation. Students will learn how to: Offer truly personalised support to vulnerable people at risk of exclusion Empower the person you support Empower yourself to deliver this support Maximise the quality of life of the person you support
Successful participants are accredited by Queen Margaret University with 15 academic credits at level 8 of the SCQ framework. This qualification meets SSSC requirements for registration of supervisors. The six day course runs over a period of six months.
We focus on the person, rather than the disability or health condition We work side by side with people The people we support guide us We design services according to your needs, desires and goals This is what personcentred planning is all about
