I’m Juan from Bolivia. I’m an Indian boy. My name means ‘God is gracious’. I’ve got dark, straight hair, my skin is tanned and I’m rather short. I always wear jeans and a T-shirt. I like the traditional, colourful clothes of Bolivia. Men and boys normally wear long trousers made of wool, with a white shirt and a striped poncho. Boys sometimes wear caps with long ear flaps. That’s a funny sight! Women wear colourful skirts and ponchos, and very often a hat.

My skin is a little bit tanned and I’m small and thin. I like wearing skirts and dresses. In India a lot of people still wear traditional clothes. Most women wear a short blouse with a sari, that's a long piece of cloth wrapped around the body and sometimes the head. Under the sari girls and women usually wear long trousers called a ‘shalwar’. The traditional clothing for men is a ‘dhoti’, which is a piece of white cloth around the legs, a bit like trousers. I’m Dirk from the Netherlands. My name means ‘ruler of the people’. I have blond, curly hair, my skin is white and I’m tall. The Dutch are the tallest people in the world! In a few villages in the Netherlands some people still wear traditional costumes on special occasions. But I don’t! The traditional costume for men and boys is: black shirts, black trousers and caps together with the well-known wooden shoes. The women’s black skirt, striped apron and jacket and lace cap of Volendam are famous all over the world!
